Subject: copyright notice on the product I purchased?

clarkking ( ) posted Sun, 13 November 2005 at 7:19 PM · edited Thu, 09 January 2025 at 11:01 PM

I purchased the end of days texture product for AS See No Evil and upon rendering the product I see very clearly a copyright notice right on the front of the texture! What gives here I purchased this to use in private renders but still why would I want the copyright notice in a very visible position. I'll not buy from this vendor again that's for sure! Any ideas how to remedy this. C

It could be a mistake, the copyright message might have been put in the texture instead of at the side of it.

I've looked at the package just now, and there are several reviews. None mention a prominent copyright statement on the front of the clothing. Try reinstalling the package again, and if that doesn't fix it, contact the merchant and explain the problem you are having. It could be something idiopathic.

Chances are the download was bad or you haven't used it correctly. If I were you, I'd check everything before branding the merchant as a baddie.

I don't know the product, but my first question would be - have there been any updates to the object the texture is for since you purchased it? It sounds like a mapping problem.

It could be something idiopathic. Ooooooh, what a great word. makes a note Lovely. As for the texture, I haven't got it, but I have a possible suggestion... Poser 5 and Poser 6 don't look for the full path for textures, just the filename. If you have some other file with the same name that Poser gets to first, Poser will apply that texture instead of the one you're looking for. It's maddening and frustrating and extremely stupid that Poser 5/6 do this, but that's the way it is. The only way I know to fix it is to change the name of the file to something unique and then edit the MAT pose to point to the newly named file. I've had to do this with many older products, including some stuff from DAZ. Note to merchants: Use UNIQUE filenames. It's not that hard to come up with a filename scheme that will set your "black.jpg" apart from everyone else's "black.jpg". ;-) (Learned this the hard way, just for the record.) bonni

Either that, or some merchants are selling multi-layer Photoshop files, and somebody forgot to turn off the top layer or whatever one has the copyright notice on it.

I have sent you 2 emails regarding the problem that you seem to be having. You have not responded to me as of this time. By everything I can see, you have applied the wrong MAT pose to the coat which would give you the result that you explained in your email. This is NOT a problem with my product, but rather a user issue. Be sure that you are applying the appropriate MAT poses to the appropriate clothing pieces to ensure that you get proper results with the package.

This sounds like user error.....Make sure you are applying the correct mat file to the right piece of clothing. If clothing pieces share a same named material region it will apply the texture map to it through the mat file even if its the wrong one. I know this merchants work and she is impeccable.

She's right and i apologize about the inconvenience. This was my fault and I let my skepticism get the best of me, I apologize for jumping to conclusions. The fact is most difficulties I've had I have found to be user error. This is a lesson I have learned, I'm sorry that it had to be you to help me learn. I did post to two forums and again I should have just emailed you first without posting to the forum board. You responded right away and provided a solution to my error one that I should have found myself, yet you helped me learn my error and provided the solution. Thank you for your help, I've also posted this in the marketplace forum. CK
