Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 20 7:20 am)
WHy dont you try diferent shaders for her? try a more flat shader with no highlight, and consider increasing the edge blend so she gets cool outlines ^^ another thing, why dont you change her hair (maybe just a simple change of style and color) change her eye color (so the copyright issue wont be a problem), and do what PwithP did with Mizuho? she has a new head over aiko3 body, we just need rtencoder to make her work ^^ and ill tell ya, this is certainly the #1 thing im looking forward to, when it comes to Poser. Im truly in love with her. awesome job Yamato-sensei! ^_^ hope to hear some more news soon!
AFAIK there is no way to do professional-looking anime-style shading in Poser. It's necessary to use Photoshop (or similar) to draw good lines and clean up the edges of the color zones. Compiler, Trekkie girl et al. have prepared some very nice toon shaders for P5/6, but they have to be augmented by corrective work in Photoshop IMO if the result is to look like a professional anime illustration.
I've written several tutorials on creating anime-style images, but like Mateo said, you need to use a little Photoshop to really make them look good. Here are the links to my tutorials: D-Toon Anime Style Tutorial for DAZ Studio http://www.renderosity.com/tut.ez?Form.ViewPages=922 Z-Toon Anime Style Tutorial for Poser http://www.renderosity.com/tut.ez?Form.ViewPages=319 Anime Style Images in Poser 4 (very old) http://www.renderosity.com/tut.ez?Form.ViewPages=66 Hope one of them can help! Thanks for the update, it looks great! Talk to you soon. SnowS

I really like evanime's work so check out the rest of his gallery too. I dont' know how much is postwork though or how exactly to get that result. Maybe she/he can shed more light on how they do it. My results are nowhere near as good as that but I rely mainly on the toon shader nodes, a pack of toon shaders I got and modified is this one: http://market.renderosity.com/softgood.ez?ViewSoftgood=29666 Lighting is also very important to get the shading you want.Attached Link: http://inkulator.sourceforge.net/
Yamato, I don't know if you have Daz Studio or not but I find that the cartoon rendering function is very good, or you could also try out a very neat utility called "Ink 9000" which does a good job of "toon-like" renders. See URL above.Attached Link: SnowSultan
Your Anime Girl is looking Awesome Yamato! I like SnowSultan's P4 tutorial . Here is a quick render in P6 with no post work.Attached Link: http://www.eovia.com/products/carrara5/carrara.asp
I've heard the new carrara 5 (official version out in december sometime) plays nicely with poser and will make good toons. Mac and PC compatable. Love estherI aim to update it about once a month. Oh, and it's free!
Torulf, could you perhaps point me to a tutorial or more information on using the P6 Toon shaders? Someone asked me about them a while back and I couldn't help them...and now I'm curious myself. :) Thanks, SnowS
