I have been fooled by an image that I saw that I would of bet my mother's life that it was a photograph put in the poser gallery but was proven wrong. So my question to anybody who wishes to view this thread where do you get textures that are actually skin photo's ( i think) and how do you use them?

The image I saw was so perefect that it had beauty marks in the shadows in the fold of the skin, unviewable unless you examine the image really close up. But the complete image was done in poser.

So where do you get these wonderful textures?

Many textures on the marketplace are based on photos. But the texture alone is not enough to create realistic skin. The artist probably used Poser 5/Poser 6 shader tricks (did he/she mention something like RealSkinShader or Unimesh Realism Kit?) that add subsurface scattering and displacement to the texture. Some artists are also very skilled at postwork, so that they can take a good render and bring it to a new level of realism. But if you're looking for a good base texture, TamelaJ (3DUnforgettables) and Morris have some excellent textures for sale in the marketplace. They are two of the very best IMO.

Hi larbac, As svdl mentioned the Poser 5 / Poser 6 shader nodes provide more in-depth abilities than Poser 4 does.
