I made it from some old Photoshop tutorial to make "carbon fiber", before the recent look of carbon fiber got popular. It looks more like the material of say, a black nylon pouch, imo. I've got it in jpg form somewhere here...hold on. AS

Best give it out as the original 1024 x 1024 .bmp, but no worries, the 3MB image zips down to just 8KB. (because it only has 6 colors)I find that in the Mat Lab, in the Texture Mapping Mode, I have to specifiy that the texture is set to "Repeat Tiling". Uusally a seamless image will just work as it should...but this one you have to set it to repeat, for it not to have a seam showing.
Download at the link.
Enjoy. ;o)

Couldn't you make that carbon fibre in the DTE? Seems to me the DTE was made for something like that.

Huh, seems I found all the Old tuts on textures, I used that carbon fibre one on my Octo-Corridor/Running Man image. And I can't get my version of the brushed metal texture not to show a seam... Even WITH clicking on "repeat Tiling". (sigh)Measure

Phil, No, with MY version of it, I've had it for a while now, but I made it the same way you did, and I've used it with success in the Octo-Corridor. I guess it just depend WHERE you put it... Oooh, I've just had an idea...
