Subject: Content Paradise Passport and the black hole that is e-frontier

cyllan ( ) posted Tue, 29 November 2005 at 1:24 AM · edited Thu, 28 November 2024 at 8:08 PM

Hi, I recently bought a P6 bundle for someone with the passport offer. So far so good, but how on earth do you tell content paradise that you've got the passport thingy? I can't find anywhere to enter the code. I've emailed both e-frontier and CP until my little typing fingers hurt, and they both ignore me completely. I phoned Digital River, (the sales end) and they gave me a number in the US. As I'm in the UK, it would actually be cheaper just to buy another subscription, but at the moment I don't feel disposed to buy anything else from them ever. However, I probably will calm down in time, so if anyone knows how to enter the passport code I would be perpetually grateful. Kathy

OK, I got the passport code in. Seems you have to buy one and use the key as a discount coupon. But... it says my $10 coupon (that they just sent me) doesn't exist, and my 10% off coupon knocks off the passport discount so I get a net loss rather than a 10% gain. I am not a happy shopper. Kathy

Jeez, that sucks. Sounds like its not a very good system over there at CP.

Maybe they read the forums here! I just had a reply to my latest email, so I'm off to try the new coupon numbers. Still not impressed though...

e-f, and one of their cp expediters, do read the forums here, religiously.

Not surprising. If you really want to sell Poser-related product in a big way (or as big as it gets in the Poserverse) -- then it's either here or at DAZ.

As far as CP goes, I believe that the first attempted launch with P5 taught them some things. They seem to be doing a good job at getting it together this time.

CP (uh....'Corporal Punishment'?) has been impressing me. Good deals they are offering. Definitely worth a serious look.

I've had my share of problems with CP. Yes, they do have good deals and I still deal with them but buyer beware. If you need assistance of any kind forget it, so I guess if you are willing to take the chance of having problems and possibly getting burnt no problem. But I avoid anything complex or expensive, to me it's just asking for trouble.

Personally I stick to their free stuff... its easier that way...

Strange, I have always received quick responses, at least within 48 hours.

I'm back in the black hole - my order is $95 without a 10% off coupon, $104 with a 10% off coupon. Go figure. Kathy

You just aren't getting it ----

The "10% off" coupon means 10% off of their cost. Not off of yours.

Likewise, the statement: "your money back if not completely satisfied!" means that if they can establish that they are 'completely satisfied', then you won't get your money back.

[ I'm joking ;) ]

I understand just how frustrating non-responsiveness from a company (or a merchant) can be. I've had it happen to me a couple of times.

shrug My own -- admittedly limited -- experience with CP doesn't match the difficulties that some others appear to be having.

I hadn't thought of that. Maybe I'll have some special Christmas '25% more' sales of my own, and see who signs up :)
