i try open a pz3 file in carrara 4 pro and it ask me the poser.exe, i show the poser.exe path but it ask me again where is poser.exe what i have to do?

Which version of Poser are you using? Transposer and Poser 6 don't work together. If you have Poser 6 I think your only option is to export the scene out of Poser as .obj or .3ds files and put the scene back together in Carrara.

Do a search for Transposer on this forum - I'm sure someone has had this problem as well. I just can't remember who or when. Otherwise email Eovia, they should be able to help you out.

I found that Poser 6 overrides Poser 5 when both are on the computer. If you remove Poser 6-completely-your troubles may go also!

On my computer, I have Poser 4, 5, and 6 all installed, in that order. I have no problems importing PZ3s into Carrara 4 Pro, I just pointed the plugin at Poser 5, and all is well. WinXP SR1 if that's any help.

If you look at you files, ALL have been renamed Poser 6. Get rid of Poser 6 otherwise live with the problems.

I also have Carrara 4 Pro. And I have installed Poser 4, 5, and 6 on my PC (although installed in the OPPOSITTE order as I was moving backwards trying to fix this same problem) and I see the same probelm as inacio (carrara won't accept any of the poser.exe's). So, maybe the order of Poser installation matters??

Question for R_Hatch: Are you using Transposer 2 plugin? I've just got the version (version 1?) that comes with Carrara 4 Pro.

Am not sure if the problem is that I have the old version of Transposer or if the problem might be the order of Poser installs or if the problem is something else entirely... at this point, I'm just waiting for my Carrara 5 Pro upgrade, which I really really hope will resolve the issue. Eovia also did tell me that they're working on Poser 6 support, but I got no kind of hint whatsoever as to ETA. Hopefully it will be soon!

I just have whatever came with Carrara 4 Pro as well. The only problem I've had is that it doesn't handle body part scaling as well as I'd like when importing (i.e: the static figure I get in Carrara 4 doesn't look identical to what it looked like in Poser 6). I want to add, I am exporting PZ3 files from Poser 6, and they import fine into Carrara 4. I ony use Poser 6, and my computer associates PZ3s with Poser 6.

R_Hatch, Wow, okay, this is encouraging news then. I'm going to try uninstalling all Poser versions and maybe Carrara too, then I'll reinstall it all starting from Poser4. Will let you guys know how that turns out. Thanks!

Keep in mind transposer will only support poser 4, as far as I know. Since there are problems in poser and D|S between ver 4 and 5, no surprise there.I would think you would need to point it to ver 4 runtime. Trans2 included in c5 goes upto p5.For some models this might get tricky.Try pointing the runtime first, then if you think installing p4 only. I don't use poser currently so wish I could help more. The file associations can be changed manually(win anyway) at any point, but that may interfere w/ your poser usage and may not help w/ carrara.

No need to think outside the box....

ren_mem, Thanks! That sounds like a good plan, I will try it that way.

Wow, I didn't even get a chance to try this yet and now there's an a new announcement on Eovia's site that Carrara 5 Pro/Transposer 2 will now support Poser 6.

yAy! :-)
