You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
It looks really nice, however, taking a scan or screencap from a movie or movie stills to use in a distributable texture without the permission of the movie makers is a copyright violation. We wouldn't allow you to distribute it here at all, and, frankly, could get you in trouble. A better way would be to go to your local zoo, and take photos of the gorrillas there, and use those photos to make the texture. It may not be the exact same, but you'll be in less hot water.

Not even free :( I didn't mean to be a wet blanket, and I can see that you worked really hard on it, too. I know of the figures by Sixus and TBKoen, and we don't have links to them in the freestuff here, either, due to the nature of copyright. We try to turn a blind eye to fanart in the galleries, but we don't allow redistribution links in the Free Stuff area. It looks like a great texture from here. It really and truly does. I'd take it as a learning experience and go with it from there. You might even be able to find some scientific or nature sites that will give you some good textures of gorilla hair and skin for use in a free texture for the Gorilla (and, I totally agree that it needs a good one ;) ).

Scott_A has modeled and rigged different three Goji' figures (the "pug" looking 70s version, the 90s version and the "Final Wars" broad shouldered "body builder"). He personally no longer has a site, but he has publicly sated he does not mind people sharing his creations. The "FW" edition does not have a texture map, but if you use Poser 5 or 6, I've tinkered a material node setting that serves well enough for his "tree bark" scales.
Above is a test render using Poser 6.
Sincerely,
Bill

I thought ScottA might have still provided a link upon his artist page for the FW Goji', but it's no longer there. However, there are two online repositories for his figures. I don't have the link available at the moment, but I'm sure someone will post them soon enough. Oh, and thank you for the kind sentiment, though it was really more of a test render to see how my scaly material would appear under IBL occlusion. Sincerely, Bill

Here's the link to Scott Ayers'models, but his Final Wars version is not there, either. Poo!However, his two other versions are available. Please note there are actually several pages to the repository.
Sincerely,
Bill

I didn't know Sixus had a new gorilla. I wanted to talk to him about doing one (that looked like the OLD King Kong with the big funny cartoony square head), but didn't know how to contact him. He did transparent hair on his Bigfoot. As for me, I suppose there are worse things than having a good looking customized gorilla model that only I can use.

it's just out lol take a lookieI love Sixus, but it looks more like another Bigfoot than a gorilla. Kind of cartoony, and the brow ridge is too flat, and the teeth are WAY to small for a gorilla. The big canine gnashers on King Kong (both versions) are a big part of the fun. On the plus side, it's about time someone did a gorilla with transparent fur already. The price is good, as usual.

It's easy. All you do is spend 2 nights scanning in photos of the Peter Jackson Kong and applying them to the DAZ Kong texture map. (The head map looks hilarious, but works okay) Then you tweak the morphs to be more bulky and badass. I wish there was a way to do transparent fur that worked. I didn't finish the teeth yet. They are time consuming to map. The hands are still by Paul Leatham. I didn't find good hand textures yet. I might share my textures and morph formulas with everybody if anybody likes it and wants to host the darn fies, and I can finish the final touches. I don't thing it's legal to charge for scanned copyrighted material and I used some Trekkie Girl and Paul Leatham maps as templates. I was disappointed at first, because most of a gorilla's expression is in the eyes and teeth. VistaPro makes very good old school Skull Island Rocks. The landscape is layers of Transparent 2D picture objects. Needs an Ann Darrow. Lets have a Create an Ann Darrow Contest. Pretty girl in a white satin evening gown with lots of wavy blonde movie star hair. Whatever hair and dress can be found at DAZ or Rosity, and whatever pretty face. Lots of gorgeous female characters at those two places.
