I am hoping for opinions beyond what is left on the product page. Any renders too. It looks neat. Ilike the body, does it bend alright?

I have the figure. It takes many poses from characters like V3 but you have to adjust afterwards if the hands/arms are close to the body. It actually looks better posed than in the default pose. The clothes you can get are OK(if general) and the head transfer onto characters like V3 works well. Texture mapping isn't V3, I think it might be V2 or similiar.

The feet look really weird in your render, it makes her look like a hobbit. Re the texture, my understanding (from looking at the product page) is that only the teeth and nails are not compatible with V3's UVS.

It's a beautiful figure but the Fred Flintstone feet have kept me from buying her.

momodot ( ) posted Wed, 21 December 2005 at 9:51 AM

This is one of the promo images. Actually those feet are a big selling point for me. Reminds me of that "big leg" look of the grown up sister in the Lilo&Stitch movies. H.E.R. has a voluptuous look but a bit more vampish then cutie. This is the only "chunky-styl" toon look I have seen yet and it has a realistic/toon fushion in a really interesting way. But I have got toon figures before that have beautiful mesh but are poorly rigged and crumple something fierce when you pose them. Something I certainly can't fix. I am also hoping the head is flexible... I realize it comes with only expression dials but the morph set and clothes set expansion is really cheap so I would get that for sure. The total cost is modest but my dollars are hard come by so. Thanks re. the posing. I'm willing to sort the textures out.I just wanted good feedback on the posing and if the face works well with its dials.

Oh... that last line might sound hissy. Sorry. Not at all. Thanks for writing :)

I'm afraid the only image I have in the gallery is a head shot, but it does show an expression. I love her, not for toons, but for an Asian figure that actualy looks Asian! No crumples.:-) Highly recommended.

theodote, thanks for the render. That is very nice. And not toon like I expected from the promos. That is a nice pensive face pose. Well, my real concern was those joints since I want to use the base body. This is a go for me. Thank you. BTW those are such beautiful eyebrows. What is the texture you used? :) momo

it looks almost as if somebody morphed the "daz girl" body down to a more human shape (note the bulbous upper arms and big feet/hands), then replaced the "daz girl" cartoon head with an asian girl's head.

I have a couple of renders of her in my gallery as well, but just headshots, I really really like her face and the expansion pack is really nice. http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=1055120 http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=1054566 The textures I used on those two are for V3 and for SP3, I find they work really well with her.

fat legs...can they be slimmed down?

momodot ( ) posted Wed, 21 December 2005 at 6:12 PM

Man! Its those legs I like... scale up the head and it should work. No arguing with taste huh? Lucie, those are some fabulous faces! Thanks.

theodote ( ) posted Wed, 21 December 2005 at 6:19 PM

momodot, the texture on that is "midori" for V3 by Stefyzz. She doesn't have that particular one at rendo, but it's on her own site.(http://www.zs3d.com/index2.htm)

Lucie ( ) posted Wed, 21 December 2005 at 7:07 PM

If you get the expansion, there are many additional morphs for her body and for her face, some of them let you make her legs slimmer, there's "ankle slim" "tigh slim" "shin slim", "foot scale", "toe small"... I'm going to try to make some quick renders tonight and will post them tomorrow just to show you her full body when posed a little and with different morphs.

That would be neat Lucie. I am going to buy when my next paypal payday happens. I just really like the look of the body and the face looks lovely... I was just afraid of serious mesh crumpling and face versatility... but the faces you guys showed look so nice.

momodot ( ) posted Wed, 21 December 2005 at 9:27 PM

That zs3d is too expensive for me but wow they look good. Stefyzz has the only really good "grandma" character I have seen anywhere. Totally on my list for next month. Those are some amazing textures there but I can only justify Grandma Francesca & Fiammetta on my budget... wow that is amazing stuff. And thank you guys for your input. I don't know that one can really go with only the buyer comments on a product that is going to cost a bit. Lucie, I do hope you give me the heads up here when you have some new images.

Here's some more previews of her, on the left of each pic is the default body and on the right I've played with the dials a little to make her legs a little slimmer, the last one is another portrait just cause I love her face lol :

I find some of the poses for V3, S3, A3 will work pretty well, but some others don't work so good, for one thing, her upper legs are in one piece instead of two like those other figures (V3 has buttocks and tighs, Satoko only has tighs) so sitting poses are messed up... and like it's been mentionned up there, the arms don't pose exactly the same either, but you can use those poses as a base sort of and with a bit of tweaking make them work ok.

In the expansion pack there aren't loads of morphs for the body (you can check the read-me for a list of them) but there are plenty for the face. For me, the fact that her head can be used really easily on all those other figures is awesome, means all the clothes for those other figures can be used with her pretty face and I find she has the prettiest asian face out there... :) But if you buy her for her body, you may find you're a little limited with clothing... Here's one of her with Stephanie Petite's body if you're interested in seeing what she can look like with another body: http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=1068663 Oh and noo, I don't get a commission! ROFL But I really do like her... ;)

Really Lucie, I appreciate it. I had really thought this was a big leg toon character from those promos! You are right... this is a very realistic figure. Very lovely, I had been concerned about the rigging but this may be the finest rigging I have seen. The bends are superb and it doesn't even have those horrid Millennium sshoulders! Just lovely. Amazing figure. I really thought it was toon but the body is so lovely I am very happy to have it anyway. It is a great short stature figure with a sweet face. The cheap morph extension and clothes pack are really really good too. Complaints next post.

This part on the chest is weird and the breast morph a little funny. I must try magnets on the breasts. The morphs are very nice but for the smile morphs, they are very strange, though I have seen similar with other Japanese figures so maybe it is a cultural or cultural ideal issue. The feet look funny even with the scaling morph but not really bad. However... The body is lovely. The add-on morph set is great. The clothes are high quality, cute, and cheap. And... The hips and shoulders have maybe the best bending I have seen on ANY figure. And the knees are modeled realistic which is where so many figures fail in the legs. Sweet face and terrific rigging. Thanks for your help. I am really glad you helped me make the right choice :)

Lucie ( ) posted Fri, 23 December 2005 at 5:20 PM

Yes, I do find the feet look funny too, I don't know if it's the toes, too much space between each of them maybe? But then, I don't do lots of close-up of feet... lol I forgot to mention that the clothes are pretty much the same as the clothes pack 1 for R-Lina (another figure by Toshyio) if not the same so any textures made for that R-Lina clothes pack 1 will work on Satoko's clothes I'm pretty sure... I haven't tried them all, but the ones for the tank top fit so I imagine the others fit as well.
