Hi everybody, Where has Davo been? Well, I've been working my butt off with a couple new projects. This image shows just a FEW of the MANY things in my comming DREADWORKS package. (robots and p4man not included). This Lab/cargo bay is actually 1 single figure inserted into the poser sceen 6 times, moved and rotated to create the other half of the room, all componants of the figure can be turned off as to not obscure the camera or lighting. The other props in the image are a part of the Dreadworks package and can all be inserted through the libraries. Also part of the package will be pipes/valves, ventilation duct work, computer/machinery props, power box, power meter, airlock door, hatch doors, pump tank, huge store/confinement tank, growth tank and everything is textured. Many of the items have 2 texture styles, one for shiney and new, one for rusted and old so you can do lots with them. Comments are welcome and keep you eyes open for more stuff from Davo. Davo

Cool picture. I especially like the robot character in front.

davo ( ) posted Fri, 16 March 2001 at 3:03 PM

Thanks twillis, that robot is a part of my Mechonomicron package very soon to be in the store. Fully posable and has great textures. I'll do some close-ups of my robots soon. DAvo

Hmmm How long til this is ready? The possiblities for the comic I am working on is endless. Especially if it has rusty textures. I can't wait for this... oh and about how much ? :)

I like it.

Here are the componants of the Dreadworks package comming out soon. Sorry for the small size of the images, this was whipped out kinda quick, I just wanted to give an overall view of the products included. The red astericks denotes that the prop or figure has 2 texture options, rust or shiney. All figures and props can be pulled from the poser library. Comments or questions are welcome :-) Davo

Davo, this is remarkable work! What, aside from ooh's and aaahh's can I say? Perhaps only, keep up your creative activities! -- ThralLord

This is a truly amazing piece of work.

Davo, What can I say? This looks fantastic!!!! Love the first scene and the robot.....this has great potential for us SciFi nuts....... Krel

nfredman ( ) posted Sat, 17 March 2001 at 10:28 AM

Davo, will we be able to import these into Bryce? i prefer to do my final renders there. This is very nice work--reminds me of the Lab miniatures game my roomie is bugging me to paint up.

davo ( ) posted Sat, 17 March 2001 at 1:52 PM

Thanks for the comments guys :-) I appreciate them Krel: I make this package with you sci-fi guys in mind. Your spaceship needs to be tucked in the corner of this image. Nfredman: If you can import a poser prop into Bryce and assing the texture map, then you should be able to use it in Bryce. I don't have Bryce so I can't tell you. I do know it imports into VUE 3 seamlessly. Thanks JeffH :-) Davo

ThralLord ( ) posted Sat, 17 March 2001 at 2:02 PM

I don't know of anything in Poser that can't be imported into Bryce, and isn't improved by the process. Of course, getting the textures, bumpmaps and transmaps to work in Bryce is not for the faint of heart. For that matter, it's not exactly easy in Vue, either. But anyone who uses these programs regularly owes it to themselves to know how to apply all these maps to objects. -- TL

Absolutely awesome, Davo! Great work! I know the folks at 3D Gladiators would love to see that toop image! Mind posting it over there?

davo ( ) posted Sat, 17 March 2001 at 4:27 PM

Thanks for the insight Thral :-) I know that Vue 3 will take in the obj's WITH textures seamlessly, something that the makers of bryce could...ahem....take a lesson from...heh heh. Warrior DL: Thanks for the compliment, I'm not sure what that site is about, but when I clicked on any of the links on the main page, the url was not working. Davo

CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW! Do you plan on making more "virtual sets" in the near future? I have a huge need for them for an upcoming full-lenght CG featurette. -Tim

Timoteo 1: Well, yes, of course :-) I think my next endeavor will be a spaceships bridge, a big one. This will have to wait, however, until I begin and finish another endeavor with my partner that will take a good chunk of time to complete. I would like to know however, what people such as yourself and Krel and WarriorDL, what types of things you would like to see made, that would really be a great help. Things I can stick in a big package like the Dreadworks. I'm not sure what the delay in getting my Mechonomicron package in the online store here is, but if you want to check it out, go to renderotica.com and look in the online store, My Mechonomicron series is a robot/cyborg package that I think you will find interesting as well. When my site is back up on the internet, I will be selling these packages (dreadworks and mechonomicron) in cd format for a lower price deal, and will also combine the 2 cd's into a much lower price deal, that is of course, sigh...when my site is back up, it could be a week. If you, or anybody is interested right now, you can reach me at salafamily1@home.com for more information. Thanks for you comments, davo

Davo: Thank you for asking. I'm looking for more mainstream stuff. Don't get me wrong I'm a scifi nut too ... but I really need some practical modern-era earth-based backgrounds. Here is a list of the kind of stuff I'm looking for (if you don't think some or any of these would turn a profit for you, I could commission you to make the work exclusively for me instead): OUTDOOR: City streets (modern to semi-future), Military Installations Suburbia Indusrial Complex Airports (Civ/Mil) INDOOR: Inside all of the above (except City Streets obviously) Professional/Office Interiors Grand Chambers ... Government, Institutions, Wealthy Mall or Marketplace But pretty much anything. Wilderness/nature stuff I'm doing myself in Bryce and Teragen. ALSO, this IS going to be a Poser, Bryce, 3DS endeavor so everything does NOT have to be in Poser Prop format or anything. In some intances its nice, but Poser sure is slow when you start putting backgrounds in. Thanks! -Tim

WarriorDL ( ) posted Sun, 18 March 2001 at 9:54 PM

Well.... lessee... I have a TOS Bridge set, access to many other Trek bridge sets, a Battlestar Galactica Bridge set, a Viper and Cylon Raider cockpit on the way... What I'd like to see is some ground based scifi compounds for Poser people to run around in :o) You make it over to the 3DG forums?

timoteo1 ( ) posted Mon, 19 March 2001 at 2:03 AM

Warrior: I thought I saw you or someone else post images with Trek bridge sets. Where can I get those puppies? Thanks, Tim

WarriorDL ( ) posted Mon, 19 March 2001 at 10:46 AM

Tim, a couple are currenlty available on our DL forum. One by Keoto is avaibale on my personal site (www.3dgladiators.com/warrior/) and the others won't be available just yet.
