Subject: How many people still use Poser 3?

How many people still use Poser 3? I want to weed out-of-date stuff out of my WWW space, but that might penalize users who are still on Poser 3.

I know of at least 3 people who are using Poser 3. And I know three other people who would like copies of Poser 3. I Have Poser 4, but there are so many great Poser 3 resources I still use a lot of poser 3 stuff. You may want to wait off on taking poser 3 stuff out. Don't forget the magazines were giving it away free recently. Curious Labs has a Patch for poser 3 on their site, which to me indicates there still is a demand for poser 3 stuff. Hope this helps.

heyas; there was a big influx of poser3 users when that version came free on a cd with a magazine.

Don't take them off! What's the URL for Poser 3 resources? As mentioned I got Poser 3 for free on the CD for 3D World Magazine. Plus, is it possible to convert P4 props and characters to Poser 3? Any help would be appreciated.

gdavis3d, Though you'll love the P4 features when you get it, in the mean time there are a couple of half steps that will allow you to more easily use P4 stuff in P3. There are two P3 nude female figures which have been remapped to accept maps created for P4. Ian Grey and I worked on them together but ended up with two different versions. Mine conforms (pretty closely) to the standard P4 mapping, and Grey's version had some repositioning of a few of the body parts for better detail, so still requires some tweaking of the maps. Grey's is at his Error Code 50 site but I don't think mine is still up. If interested I'll dig it out. Also, to get P4 .CR2's and PZ3's to open in P3 without getting that pesky "Geometry file not found" stuff, try just substituting your P3 .OBJ files for those of P4. For example, take your p3 nude woman geometry: (RuntimeGeometriesfemaleNudeHifemaleNudeHi.obj) copy, and rename it, and put it where Poser expects to find the P4 version of the figure: (RuntimeGeometriesP4NudeWomanP4NudeWom.obj) Not perfect, not a conversion, but at least the files created for P4 will open in your system.

Or rather, copy the geometry .OBJ file and rename and move the copy.
