Subject: Creating a bodysuit for a morphed Vicky

I'm tring to create a bodysuit for a highly morphed Vicky but am having a helluva time doing it. I tried using the grouping tool and the heirarchy editor, but I obviously don't know enough (and the manual doesn't say enough) about them to be any good. Any suggestions?

I've created a body suit for my character, it took me a while to understand what i was doing, i'll try and explain it as best i can: the grouping tool is your best friend! using the grouping tool you will have to select individual body parts> select new group> add all> assign material> and then create a name for it like "leather" or "suit" and make sure it is spelled right each time you add a new body part. i've spent hours redoing the entire body just because of a lack of focus. This process will take around an hour, but it is the only way i know of, take your time with it. I hope this helps a little, Morgan

If you are just assigning new material names to individual body parts then another way is to:-- Load the file into UVMapper.

  • Edit/select by group and select all the body parts you want to change.
  • Now Edit/assign and give them all a new material.
  • Save the OBJ with a new name.
  • Edit the figure CR2 to point to this new OBJ.

The grouping tool will work, and may be the best way if only sections of a group are required, but I think you will find this method quicker for a body suit.

I'm not sure if I'm doin it right Morganza. I went through all the steps you described (and created props along the way). But when I finished and applied a texture to it, parts of the body were sticking through. What I'm trying to do here is create a body suit that I can apply a texture to for my morphed Vicky, but I want to be able to shrink the bodysuit so that a different texture on Vicky's body shows through. This is all done in animation. What am I doing wrong?

My friend, If you want to create a bodysuit clothing prop, then i would ask the master "PhilC", i'm sure he would be happy to help you. Creating clothing is beyond me, i,m still learning the ropes.
