Green, it seem to be "deeper"

I think the reason the Green looks deeper and better is the color of the Subs. If they were close to the color of the Water as in the upper one I think preception would be different. (NOTE: Even Yellow and Orange Subs look to be similar color of the water until they are lit with a light source.) In my opinion, neither looks too deep because of the unexplained light on the wreck(?) and the light pattern on the sea floor. I think after about 100m (or less) you no longer get that affect. Also, the Sharks swimming around makes it appear shallower as well. I would like to see one with the Subs recolored side by side with the top one. That to me would be better to judge. Great image all around (and in both cases!) I doubt I would have picked up on the Sub Color if you had not put the other image.

I like 'em both..being me, I thought this was about the Byzantine Nike revolt..;) (very obscure..but the two factions were green and blue..;)

Both look good. I agree with Robert on the Lochness Caribbean thing.

I think my notes on the original image explain why i added teh lights and the caustics. You have to compromise between realism and what looks cool. I think maybe to go with what people expect is teh way forward, even if it's not technically accurate.

Hello! This is hard to choose since both are really great. I would have to pick green, since the green plays with the imagination, making surfaces appear aged or slimmed with some deep ocean algae. --Death_at_Midnight

Definitely the green. IMO, it has more dimension and color variant.
But that's just me. ;)

Both good images Drawbridgep. Sunlight penetrates up to 100 feet or some 30 meters before then certain colors are filtered out of the light at different depths. And sharks have been known to go as deep as 700m. Deep north Atlantic turbid waters have that eerie greenish appearance whereas warm tropical waters are clearer and exhibit that bluish ting which is the last color to be filtered out of the water. Id go with that greenish image because it invokes that creepy feeling of not knowing whats beyond the murkiness. I also agree that in waters at these apparent depths, caustic patterns in any great intensity would not be visible.

I found using green became easier to work with, the lights seem to work better as well......just my 0.02 worth as others say! LOL Marc (Remembering Phils wants his sub with my legs to be uploaded. Sorry, forgot all about it) ;(

I'm always last to chime in... Blue for Pacific... Green for the nasty, mean, unforgiving Atlantic. Go green

Oh heck, I like blue but I guess the green does look more murky sea. I vote green.
