I remember I got some great deal on acrobat, and I figured I could write it off anyway. Heck, I had poser for a few years before anything "clicked", and I couldn't count the number of games I've bought and not completed, or hardly even played.

Open Office, which is a free, open source word processor which comes with a suite of several great, high quality programs has a PDF file maker as a part of the word processor.It's also compatible with Microsoft programs, too.

and, actually, you can save the whole page in firefox, mozilla and internet explorer as "Web page, complete." it's the default, and it pulls down all linked images and other media with the page. that way, when you open the html file, in your browser or even editor of choice, it's pretty much the whole thing but still in a format you can open in various applications. on your hard drive, it will save the html file and a folder holding all it's media. that's how i save tutorials of many different types.

I usually do save the web page with explorer, but I kid of like the idea of not having to hunt down the image files, if I want to archive them.

hmmm. you still don't have to. if you move the html file, windows will move the folder with it. though, frankly, i've never had to move the file once i've saved it (except to delete it). open a windows explorer window and select tools > folder options. one of the options is "Managing pairs of Web pages and folders." mine is on "Show both pairs and manage as a single file." i'm not sure what the default is, cause i set that up upon getting this box and i don't remember. but i'm betting on, "Show and manage the pair as a single file." if you're on a mac, i'm less sure of the options, except that ie on the mac has been discontinued and is unsupported. i do know i do the same thing on mac and never have a problem. but then mac organizes purely by name, and the file/folder pair are "some html page.html" and "some html page_files". not really requiring hunting down. the only problem is images added to the page with CSS. that the browsers don't catch, but i'm not sure acrobat would either.

I had no idea if you moved the file, that windows automatically moves the folder as well. Interesting!
