Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 08 9:27 am)
Actually, it'd be nice to be able to togel on and off what you'd like the file to be saved at does. Having something rewrite the obj and texture correct paths, and just change version to 4.01, and then resave as the P5/6 version would be nice. (Can't recall how many hours I've spent double checking and redoing things like that.)
Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.
I just need something to cut the Center of Mass props out. could this script do just that?

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

![tnLegacyFileWriter.jpg](http://www.netherworks-studios.com/Freebies/tnLegacyFileWriter.jpg)Legacy File Writer is a Python script for Poser 5 and Poser 6 that will take nearly any existing Poser library file (more appropriately Figures (cr2), Props (pp2), and Hair (hr2) ) and write a Legacy file version (Poser ProPack and Poser 4).
This is for folks who like many of the features of Poser 5 or 6 but would rather have files that are more backwards compatible. It can also be a very useful merchant resource. This script accomplishes the following:
Limitations:
In order to create proper legacy files, it is up to you to set appropriate program settings, such as turning off file compression and external binary morphs in Miscellaneous preferences. It is doubtful that the script will work with such things and it remains untested.
The script also writes a configuration file (to Runtime:Python:poserScripts), which saves the last directory used so hopefully you won't have to fight with that annoyance frequently. However, some file operations in Poser, like adding things "on the fly" to the python library may set the last directory to your scripts directory. I haven't completely worked that out yet.
