Subject: A question about Vue import

Shari123 ( ) posted Thu, 26 January 2006 at 5:56 PM · edited Sat, 11 January 2025 at 7:25 AM

I recently purchased the Liltsure Hair (and I'm quite delighted with it) but I cannot import it into Vue Infinite. As I understand it, they are working on the importation of strand based hair.

My actual question is about the various textures that have appeared in the Marketplace. I was wondering if any of these texture remaps will import into Vue?

I attempted to contact the vendors and query them, but the new Marketplace won't allow vendor contact. So I thought maybe someone else with Vue could answer my question.

Please note: I am not complaining about the product at all. I just want to get it into Infinite. I'm not experienced with doing composites so any help you can offer is appreciated.

"I attempted to contact the vendors and query them, but the new Marketplace won't allow vendor contact." What's that???

Hi Shari Vue is normally fine with prop-based hair (it's Dynamic it historically has has more issues with). I bought the hair to check this out (great isn't it?) and just as you say, does not appear when imported into Vue. I have reported this to E-On (with screenshots) and will let you know when I hear anything back - they are usually very helpful. It might also be worth you dropping an e-mail to support@aerysoul.com (see www.aerysoul.com) to let them know also (the Merchants). Kind regards

Many thanks Trelawney! I'm not very accomplished at filing a ticket with Eon. I tend to confuse people with what I am asking. I hope they can resolve this issue because I really love that hair. About the Marketplace for Orio: Always before, if I had a question about a product, I would select the merchant's name and it would take me to their artist's page where I could IM them with a question or compliment. In the new Marketplace, those links only take me to the merchant's store with no IM capabilities. I hope this clarifies what I meant to say.

I recently updated my Vue to 5.09 in hopes of resolving this issue with the hair, but alas the issue was still there. I then imported the object from the Poser geometries file and it imported just fine. I then manually applied the texture and transmap and all was well. Vue WILL import the hair object. It just won't import the pz3 file. I am inexperienced with Poser, so I can't pinpoint what the issue is, but my hope is that someone can. I attempted to file a support ticket with Eon, but it doesn't appear to have gone through. I then tried to login at Cornucopia to post on their forum, but I don't exist there anymore and likewise at Content Paradise. Please note: I am not a qualified beta tester and I don't entertain the thoughts of being one. I am merely a hobbyist/customer whose only interest is creating and learning.

"Filing a 'support ticket' "?
Vendors protected by the MP and unreachable by their customers ?

First Vue Forum thread I've read in weeks, and I wonder if I've inadvertantly stumbled into an alternate Universe where the businesses have taken over and the customer is a second-class citizen. ;)

Uhh, as for the hair if it's a conforming figure, that might cause problems. I don't use Vue 5, but in Vue 4 sometimes a conforming figure wouldn't import right.

Then again, there was this guy who used to be around here a few yearsa ago, "tesign", who summed it up well enough with the simple statement, "Vue funny sometime. " :)

I wrote to the vendor about this. I think it has something to do with how the cr2 of the hair part is constructed, and so it's not a Vue or Poser problem, but a problem with the hair itself. I opened the cr2 and see correct references to the geometry location. My email: I use Vue 5 Infinite with Poser, and have no trouble with any other hair models importing in to Vue 5 Infinite, including your Long Tails hair. WIth the Liltsure, only the headband and the skullcap import. I have a question for you. In Poser, when I add the hair to the scene, and select the hair, I can't select the "Body" of the hair. Instead, it says "No Actor". Now, if I go to the different parts of the hair, I see Body2, etc, and in props I see the magnets. This is with Poser 4,5, and 6. Could you tell me why the Body would be "No Actor"? Their reply: There is no body becouse the liltsure hair is a complete custom cr2, with different join parameter and falloff zone. When we have converted this hair from ".hr2" file to ".cr2" file the body dials (probabily) is lost (but in cr2 the "body" is contained) but in testing everythings work fine and when we click on the hair we directly go in the "head" part (where all morphs are located) instead in the body. We thinks is a good deal. As usual we have tested in poser and everythings works fine. Sincerely i dont know how Vue works (i dont use Vue), but if the problem about Liltsure hair and Vue is the "missing" body part we'll fix this things and soon we make an update. We try to test this issue very soon and thanks for report us and we will let you know very soon! Hopefully, the missing "body" is the problem and they'll be able to release a fix for this. I'll post here if I hear anything further.

Hi guys

First thanks to Djesee for contacting the vendor - It's good to know they are willing to consider an update.

I got a response from E-On Tech support to say thanks for the report and they are expecting another SDK update from e-Frontier that will "hopefully" address this issue.

So I guess we should wait for 5.10, and/or see if As Shanim/AerySoul provide an update.

Thanks for everyone's feedback in the meantime! >8o)

Kind regards

I heard from the vendor again, and it was indeed the way their hair cr2 was constructed, and not an e-on or SDK issue. They'll be releasing an update to the hair.

Result! - Thanks again for following this up Djeser, any kudos to AerySoul for responding so quickly. I look forward to trying the product update when it comes out. Any ETA? In the meantime - there are more regular SDK updates to Poser 3rd parties to fix other issues, so I daresay we will get the best of both worlds in this case. >8o) Kind regards
