So I wanted to know, I was fishing around and found out that I can get a set down ring for the hood of my automatic and a super macro lens for it, but the lenses are discontinued... And they guy at the shop said that he has some macro maginfiers that come in the style of a filter, screw it on and bob's your aunty. Just basically like putting a magnifying lens infront of your camera... Good idea? Bad idea? About R600 for 3 different sizes...

They work fine - if it suits what you want to take shots of then fanny's your uncle :) I used one on the shot I just posted into Tom's thread about photographing small objects. They usually require you to focus manually. I use the Canon 250D close up lens.

And every one said, 'If we only live,
We too will go to sea in a Sieve,---
To the hills of the Chankly Bore!'
Far and few, far and few, Are the lands where the Jumblies live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue, And they went to sea in a Sieve.

I have a close-up filter..and it works beautifully. It works just like you said...like putting a magnifying glass infront of your camera. I have a +3 filter...the higher the value the stronger the magnification. I just put in a bid on a set holding +1,+2,+3,+4 and +10...for $20....ebay will be the death of me, LOL. Still dont quite understand the title for this inquiry though....

How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is supposed to be fire and brimstone?

Isnt it kinda silly claiming that the intellect is rooted...in your hair-roots? What if other blonde people think youre making a mockery out of them? #:oP Besides...i think your questions are very good and well thought of. #:O)

LOL, my daughter is blonde...to think she may be one of the last... ;] I have the set of 3 magnifying lenses...never use them though. Maybe I should give them a try.

LOL!I didn't realise my 'kind' was dying out!Yikes!In all honesty,that claim seems rather absurd...but interesting,nonetheless.Thanks for 'highlighting' a potentially important issue for us,Richard.LOL.I guess we should all unite and begin a 'Save the Blondes' campaign! ...AND I shall expect to be treasured even more by you guys from now on,lol. ;^) As to the 'dumb blonde' issue... No offense,but frankly,I don't understand it.You don't sound 'dumb' to me and I certainly don't see myself that way.So I do not,as you say,'relate' to it.Sorry.

Dumb blonde...I generally see that blonde head attached to dark roots. Dyed blondes will not dye out but real ones..yes, a treasure! : ) I did not know they are endangered.

I do say that my roots are indeed blonde, dark blonde but still blonde against the highlights they look brown... But now that that has all grown out I have a lovely head of blonde hair :} Marg - don't you find it a nice excuse for things that you do wrong? I do, blame it on the hair :D Tx for the links and 2P would love to see your experimenting shots with your magnifiers... And as too my brain being not a true stupid blondes, as the old saying goes - there is always someone better than you... So in a sense we are all blonde!
