This just blew me away. I love visting sites that are web experiences. This guy's art is also fantastic. He has a gallery here of course, with the same handle.

I'll have to look at the gallery here because I can't figure out how to maneuver around their website. I enter the site and see a girl in a room or something. That's as much of the site as I can figure out. Anyone else confused about his site can see his gallery here at the above link.

If you have flash player installed, move your mouse around the frame. I know, it's not very intuitive, but he's inviting you to explore and challenges you.

Yeah, while his imagry rates a 10 on the technogeek scale, it's browsability rates about a 3 or maybe 4 for usability intuitiveness. I was able to find his video gallery after some clicking around on different bits of the screen and watched a couple animations.

Acadia ( ) posted Fri, 03 February 2006 at 6:31 PM

I have flash installed and I managed to get into the site, but couldn't figure out how to browse. I don't have patience to spend clicking around and fiddling with gizmos that don't do anything and trying to figure out how to get to the site contents. I did check out his gallery here, whether the images are the same or not, I don't know. But they are very nice.

Sorry, can't get past the (cheezy) DVD start up type gizmo. Too much raz mataz for me. Best Wishes, Rance

Wow! That is one of the coolest sites I've seen in a long time. (Beautiful artwork too!). I'm really enjoying exploring all the different sections. Thanks for the link! :D

I liked the challenging interface, although, yes, he went too far. He has imagination, and that covers a lot of sin in my bible.

while we are on the subject of inovative flash hip cool sites.....see attached, it's a music site, not a 3D.

Well, from that site I determined he's a big fan of "Budweiser" Beer and likes to read while on the toilet, LMAO

There are GIFTS this guy is giving away, but gotta find stuff in other plaecs of the website, dunno how, give up. As a type of "demo reel" of his work, yeah, ok, this website gets my attention.

The gifts are some very nice wallpapers. :) The pieces you have to find are little gold glowing things. When you find one, click on it and it will be added to the fancy round symbol thingie at the bottom of the page. There are 4 to find that fill in the spaces on the symbol. Once you've got them all, go back to the gifts section and click and drag the symbol up into the one in the center of the page. It's a shame a lot of you didn't enjoy the site. I thought it was fantastic. I can't remember the last time I had such fun going through a website. I thought it was brilliantly and beautifully designed. :)

If you like tedious flash sites, then you will love these: http://www.ebaumsworld.com/crimsonroom.html For this one, click on the Japanese text until you get to the actual loading of the flash. http://www.fasco-csc.com/works/viridian/index_e.php And here is another: http://www.fasco-csc.com/works/bluechamber/index_e.php

WoW! No problem getting around his site here. Dear Lord that must've taken him forever to build it!

I really enjoyed his site. Incredible! Thanks for pointing it out :)

Argon18 ( ) posted Fri, 03 February 2006 at 9:56 PM

I guess it depends what audience you're going for right? It had a lot of cool stuff on it that the high end developer would like since they know what to look for. But the interface is a bit on the obscure side, so it's not geared for the masses. Art directors don't have much patience so they wouldn't spend enough time getting around the site to appreciate it, so it doesn't work so well as a portfolio. I suppose if he only wants to reach a small percentage that wants to be challenged to see new and exciting stuff it was worth it.

I liked it too, didn't have too too much trouble. Right once you enter if you move your mouse the menu shows up on the page, or you can just click sitemap on the top of the frame and take er away from there. That was cool.

thefixer ( ) posted Sat, 04 February 2006 at 3:36 AM

That's one of the cleverest sites I've ever seen and the artwork is superb, well worth the visit, Kudos! thefixer, poser coord.

Great site design - Royo meets Giger - but to get a better view of the images themselves (which is normally the point), you're best off at the gallery. There's real talent here, though.

Wow, some of you guys are such cynics. That's OK I'm a cynic too, just thought the site was artistically well done.

I'm a cynic because I find the website tedious and difficult to maneuver? Ummm, ok then... walks away totally confused

Attached Link: Tips on Usability

Yes I thought it was a very artistic site but unfortunately that's not all that is necessary to a good web site, since there is also usability to consider. And if a site doesn't include that, isn't the message of the content going to be lost? The people that get confused about how it's presented aren't going to understand whatever the designer is try to say right?
