Fractals F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 13 3:03 pm)
I can try to give an answer (altough i'm not able to do multilayered image...).
Last year i did a small exposition of my fractal-print. I was exposing with other 'traditional artist' (oil on canvas, pencil, etc...). Someone, looking my prints, said that they was beutiful, but very geometric. There was no feeling from that pictures. Maybe that playing with texture and layers a fractal artist can express himself more than with a simple formula. It is very difficult to paint a feeling with only one layer :-), even if a geometric image can still be beautiful....
(sorry for bad english)

I agree with Heather and Yvonne. Why even buy UF if you don't learn and use it's capabilities??? For, if not, you basically just have just a true-color Fractint circa 1998 or one of the other freebie programs - just with a little more control over colors.
Unless you use the layering capabilities, you are seriously limiting any creative input you may have. At least with layering and masking you can put more of your own creative vision into the end product...just my 1.5 cents for what its worth.
That said, I DO like the simplicity of single-layer stuff and I see some neat ones posted already. (that look great and I'd LOVE to add another 50 layers to, also - lol! j/k) Reckon I'll see what I can come up with, too - looks like fun! AFTER I mow the lawn - sheesh, what a short winter. Global warming is a drag! lol

The strong point from Ultra Fractal is in my idea the multi layer option and of course also the lot of mapping filters Looks to me a nice challenge to play a 1 layer game in UF without using any trick or postworkmapping filters I think personal that anybody then has the same change and not only the layer and maskmapping champions I have seen a few very nice one layer UF images so it most be possible :-) Have a nice Sunday Greatz Arend
