I downloaded the most recent version of DAZ/Stidio, and I am totally delighted! However, since this is my first experience with this kind of program, I'm wondering if someone might answer a render question. This is my first figure. (as in never did this before, very first, lol) I rendered her, and the edges came out all jagged. I used the render drop down box, rendered her to png. format, but didn't know what other options to use. Help??? Thanks, Miriah

Hi Miriah

The quick way is to go to the Render options dialog and set it to 'software render'. (either with the slider all the way to the right or via the advanced tab)

Getting the hardware renderer to do anti-aliasing (using intermediate shades to soften edges) can be a bit of a struggle, depending on your graphics card. Check that anti-aliasing is enabled in Edit>Preferences>OpenGL tab: unfortunately it may well be listed as Not supported, even if your hardware does in fact offer it - in that case you will probably need to go into the settings for the card (in Windows it's Control Panel>Display>Settings>Advanced and then it depends on the make and model of your card) and ensure that anti-aliasing is on, rather than Application controlled or On demand.

Richard,
I was saving that information for a later posting.
Just in case it made QuietRiot want to run away screaming!!! ;-)

LMAO!!!! I can always take them into PSP and do the job, but I'd rather try geting it done within DAZ. Hmmmm, o.k., I'll copy the info and go poking around to see what's up. is not afraid of poking around Oh..did I mention that I did not read the quick start guide and had no idea about parenting. I chased that little Fae's hair and clothing all over the darn place! ROFL!!! (notice her bun is on the side of her head?????)The poor thing had her boobs poking out of the front in a gap. giggles I finally got that little bit straightened out. I guess it pays to read the instructions. Thanks for the help! Miriah

Hi Miriah! Thanks for posting this question for me to get an answer to my Jaggies! I'm glad I'm not the only one guilty of not reading instructions but hey it is fun to jump in and blaze away sometimes! Have fun. Jenny

Hi jenny, I never read instructions. LOL I have progressed from that experience with DS to Poser 6 (a totally different experience) Bryce 5.5 and Vue 5 Easel. I still haven't cracked open the instructions for any of them. Ha ha ha ha. BUT!!!! I have actually gotten pretty good by learning the hard way. I think the jaggies are also a product of lighting. You can change so much by just moving a light (or adding/deleting one) One of these days I'll get back to posting pics here at Rendo. Have fun, and blaze away! M
