Subject: Eye Candy 4000?

Hi all, I am very new to Poser and 3D modeling. I got poser about a month ago and played around with it for a while, now am ready to look for some add-ons to fill in where poser lacks, or my artistic skills lack (which is a lot....) I already own Photoshop and was looking at Eye Candy 4000. Looks like it has some very worthwhile filters and stuff, but I thought I'd ask the forum before plunking down the money. I was particularly interested in the 'hair' filter as that is the worst part of Poser right now - the characters look like they've got play-doh on their heads, not hair! I hope DAZ and Curious Labs get better, more realistic hair into the next release. Also, another question, probably a stupid one; obviously right now a lot of the work on hair has to be done in post-production, in photoshop or the like. But I am working on three characters that I plan to use in several sceenes, so I will want to add them to my library after I'm done. But I can't do that with all the post work on them, can I? Once they get exported to Photoshop I can't retrieve them, correct?

I like EyeCandy's Shadowlab feature in 4. However, EyeCandy 3 has a much better 'drop". I never got much of anywhere with the "fur" one...however there is a graphic on one of my sites where I used the "fur" to do the trim on a jacket....(Don't laugh...everything on that site was made with POSER 1) We are talking LOTS of photoshop... http://poppibird.webjump.com Check it out, and you decide if it is worth it. Good luck to you. Happy posing ;)

I'm working on an Eye Candy 4000 and Xenofex review for an article at the 3D Comic Collective... so far I'm truly enjoying the filters... but you'll be able to read more in a week or so at www.3d-cc.com If you have the budget, I doubt you'll regret purchasing eyecandy... if nothing else... you can download the demo and see what the filters would do... two of them even work fully in the demo. I came, I rendered, I'm still broke.

I think it is worth the money.. The weave filter is great for giving your work a canvas or old painting look..
