Subject: Need Help with Figure Collisions!

I'm new to Poser 6, and I'm having a problem with having figures and props blending into each other. Is there an easy way to prevent figures from mooshing together? I read the Poser 6 manual, and activated the collision detectors for each body part (and it's children) for both figures (props as well), and they still moosh together. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance, y'all!

sorry for this late reply. i know of no way to make figures collide with each other. honestly, i don't even know why that is in the menu. there has often been grousing about that with this program. sadly, you must simply be careful how you place things. working with magnets, you can make one part of something displace another part of something. but that is pretty complex in itself. as far as i know, it simply comes down to very tedious placement of objects. best to have mutliple views open upons placement. so sorry. if i am wrong i certainly hope someone will speak up, but i don't think that is the case.

Thanks for the reply! It's appreciated. I'm kind of glad it's something everyone deals with (I thought I was screwing up!). I don't understand why Poser is set up that way, but I'll just have to be patient with how I pose stuff. Thanks again for your help, and if anyone else may have some tips on this, please let us know!

You have seen Dr Geeps latest tutorial posted just this week I hope. The collision detection must be turned on for both figures as well as the studio window environment itself.

I've never managed to get collision detection to work. I've had it turned on for the object and for the table and the object still went through the table. So it's beyond me how it works.

That's because there is a 3rd Collision Detection that has to be turned on and that's for the window you're working in. In the upper right corner of your working area window there's a little black sideways arrow drop down menu where you'll find Collision detection. It must have the checkmark turned on next to it for collission detection to work. I know it works because right now I have a locked up Poser window because I have it turned on and my robot figure is so big that it's stuck between decks in the Spaceship L1. o.O

Son of a gun! I found the third collision detection right where you said, Mizrael, and it worked! Thnaks again to you and everyone who responded! I'm also going to track down and read Dr. Geep's tutorial. Thanks again to all of you! You folks rock!
