Subject: PBooost II has hit the Renderosity Store!

hogwarden ( ) posted Tue, 21 February 2006 at 5:08 AM · edited Fri, 09 August 2024 at 11:44 AM

PBooost II (2.0.1.14) full package and upgrade.

PBooost II is a library manager for Poser... and a whole lot more. Designed from scratch for both professional and hobbyist Poser user alike, PBooost II offers a straightforward and clear Explorer-style interface for optimum workflow.

The PBooost Bank System allows content in each library category to be grouped into banks to reduce the number of items shown in the Poser library tab. You only see the content you want! Fully customisable Bank Groups allow you to group banks across the categories to further improve your workflow.

PBooost II can fully replace the Poser library tab for figures, hair and props. Items, even many at once, can be loaded directly from PBooost II into the running Poser scene in all Poser versions thanks to Hogsoft's innovative P4PyE technology. You can even drag files from PBooost and drop them into Poser!

What makes it so powerful and easy to use:
Bullet01.jpg Designed to be fully compatible with Poser 4, 5, 6 and Propack.
Bullet01.jpg Explorer-style browser interface with full drag/drop and cut/copy/paste functionallity makes it really easy to organise your library just the way you want it.
Bullet01.jpg Thumbnails shown for content (rsr or png). One thumb represents the content file, thumbails and any other associated files.
Bullet01.jpg Load figure/hair/prop content straight into the Poser scene with a double-click
Bullet01.jpg Find Content tool makes it easy to search your runtimes for content.
Bullet01.jpg Multiple runtime support! Many libraries can be viewed simultaneously, each open in it's own PBooost II window.
Bullet01.jpg Switching banks is as simple as clicking on a bank's red dot.
Bullet01.jpg Function to switch to all banks with that name across all categories in one click.
Bullet01.jpg Library Quick Switch panel gives even quicker access to switching banks.
Bullet01.jpg Folder Lock Wizard eradicates folder locks through a clear checklist of known causes.
Bullet01.jpg All functions quickly available with a right-click.
Bullet01.jpg Convert selected content into a new bank in one click.
Bullet01.jpg Bank Groups give you the power to switch many banks at once in a single click.
Bullet01.jpg Preview content or open it in your favourite text editor from the browser.
Bullet01.jpg Content Properties dialogue shows you information on content or content folders.
Bullet01.jpg Automatically checks content to see if there are any items in the wrong categories or with incorrect extensions when you move/copy files.
Bullet01.jpg Clear and concise windows help file included.
Bullet01.jpg The installer includes the Hogsoft Hub which, in addition to being a central point to access utilities, programs, links and documents, gives you a mini PBooost Remote Control so you can switch banks anytime... without even having to open PBooost!

Extra tools and features:
Bullet01.jpg

Act fast!... For the first 7 days after PBooost II is launched at Renderosity, when you purchase PBooost II (full or upgrade) you can get it's new Figure Independent Injection plugin, worth $10, absolutely free!

To get hold of your free copy of the FII plugin, simply download the little program ** here**. When you have installed PBooost II, run this little program and it will link you to your free download.

Figure Independent Injection plugin (1.0.0.2) for PBooost II.
This utility is a tool plugin for Hogsoft PBooost II and requires PBooost II to operate.

**What is Figure Independent Injection and what can it do for me?
** Bullet01.jpg Millennium 3 characters (such as Daz Victoria 3, Micheal 3 and the Freak) use a system called Morph Injection to insert/remove different morphs into the figure by the use of morph injection poses. The characters also contain Full Body Morphs (FBMs). These appear as dials in the BODY of the figure and control morphs in many body parts at once. Additionally, the characters may contain Joint Controlled Morphs (JCMs) which allow movement of one body part to affect morphs in others. This system works extremely well when there is only one figure in the scene but, due to idiosyncrasies within these Daz products, if two or more Millennium 3 characters are needed with different morphs, then the FBMs and JCMs stop working: Any morphs injected into Figure 2 take their FBM and JCM control from Figure 1. This means that, in order to give the characters different morphs, you must forget about the FBM dials and JCM and tweak each dial on every body part to the required extent. This can take many more hours than if the FBMs just worked properly. Well, now they can!

Bullet01.jpg Figure Independent Injection describes a discovery by Maveris, developed and tested by lesbentley and layingback, whereby the morph injection files themselves (those files stored in the libraries!Daz folder) are subtly altered to allow multiple figures to control their own FBMs and JCMs.

Bullet01.jpg When the Figure Independent Injection plugin is installed, it creates for PBooost II an FII copy of the !Daz injection folders which can be switched in/out just like any other PBooost bank. When the new PBooost II FII injection bank is switched in, any Millennium 3 figures loaded into poser will be free from the single figure FBM and JCM limitations explained above.

What makes it so powerful and easy to use:
Bullet01.jpg Easy to install plugin. Just run setup.exe and then start PBooost... choose "initialize" from the PBooost tool plugins>FII menu. That's it!
Bullet01.jpg Switching your injection folders from normal to FII is as simple as one click!
Bullet01.jpg Install, initialise and forget... if you always want FII to be active.
Bullet01.jpg No more hand-editing loads of files or running complex scripts to get FII flexibility.
Bullet01.jpg No Python required: works in all Poser versions.
Bullet01.jpg Doesn't alter your existing injection files at all... it creates it's own special FII copies.

The PBooost II library tree now shows the default !DAZ and FII injection banks:

I IMed and emailed Hogwarden, hopefully he'll see them soon and get it corrected

I remember having to do some kind of test for an earlier version of PBoost on my machine to test compatability, and I was found wanting. Has the newer version done away with this necessity?

mathman ( ) posted Tue, 21 February 2006 at 5:56 PM

oops ... re my earlier post (#7), it helps if I read the thread properly to start with, doesn't it ... blush

mathman ( ) posted Tue, 21 February 2006 at 6:05 PM

I still don't see it in the Marketplace ??? ... dying to know what the upgrade price is.

Philywebrider ( ) posted Tue, 21 February 2006 at 7:11 PM

I think the full price is $41.00, and I think the upgrade is $10.95. They were in the market place, but the prices were transposed, so they removed them to correct them.

I remember having to do some kind of test for an earlier version of PBoost on my machine to test compatability, and I was found wanting. Has the newer version done away with this necessity? I like to see an answer on this.

Hi Philly... Yes, the problem is solved. The new PBooost II Folder Lock Wizard will help to quickly irradicate any problems which can possibly arise. H:))

hogwarden ( ) posted Mon, 27 February 2006 at 6:42 PM

The offer for your free copy of the Figure Independent Injection Plugin will vanish in 24 hours!!! You must install the PBooost II upgrade or full version in order to secure your free copy of this indispensible plugin so act fast before the download expires! Howard:)

hogwarden ( ) posted Wed, 01 March 2006 at 4:17 PM

I'm pulling the free download at 12PM UK time tonight... 2 hours time! If you wish to get the FII plugin free with PBooost II you'll need to act fast:) H:))

Philywebrider ( ) posted Fri, 03 March 2006 at 3:57 AM

Hogwarden PBoost was posted before it was available, so I waited. When it was available it was priced wrong an I waited until you/Rendo got it straightened out. I didn't want to cheat you, see line 9. I even explained to someone about why PBoost was no longer posted. See line 14. A question was brought up and I asked for a reply, see line 15. It took 7 days to get an answer. I wasn't able to get on line so now I'm losing the free plug-in, after waiting all that time. See line 18. I just can't win.

hogwarden ( ) posted Fri, 03 March 2006 at 7:07 AM

Hi Philly... sorry about the delay in answering your post 15... not sure why I missed it:( I'm e-mailing you the plugin:) H:))

Philywebrider ( ) posted Fri, 03 March 2006 at 7:15 PM

Hi Hogwarden, many thanks, I sent you my e-mail address but no plug-in yet... :O(
