Question......if you have a MAC pc/laptop, can you install Windoze and run it as a IBM PC? (Probably a stupid question)

@ thebryster and drawbrigep no, i believe not! in both cases. But, who knows what will happen in the next future? Even if they mount the some processor, the computer architecture is different and the OS (both WIN and MAC) kernel is not compiled for running on "non-standard" configurations (except for a beta-test version of the pentium based macOS, that should run on windows chipsets. But this is not confirmed, please consider this a hacker legend. It's just a rumor I heard.) Yes, it would be nice to run mac and win programs on the some computer, even if the most important applications (bryce too... ehm, cough it should) are translated for both systems.
Well people are expected to be able to install windows vista on the new mac hardware, because a lot of PC's use the same chipset and EFI boot interface. SO because the macbook ships with OSX installed, you could just install windows as well and concievably dual boot the mac into either the mac OS or windows. And when you think about it, both companies make money off this. You will soon be able to run most windows apps natively in OSX without a windows install as well: http://darwine.opendarwin.org/ A fully functional version of OSX running on a non-apple box is far less likely, although people have made some progress in getting a version of OSX (albeit lacking a lot of functionality) onto standard generic PC hardware. Apple is taking steps to hinder this though, as because many consider OSX superior to windows, may dent apple's hardware sales with a lot of people wanting the power and stability of OSX without paying for apple's computers. http://www.osx86project.org/

Apple has started shipping its first laptop computer to be powered by intel processors. Quite a few pre-order customers have already recieved their laptops, and many shipping notices have been issued (including one to my roommate). Retail apple stores are starting to recieve inventory as well, so you can check them out in person at an apple store starting this weekend. Battery life from inital tests by users has been around 4 hours will full screen brightness and no power saving measures enabled. Results with such steps are expected to surface ina few days. Why does this concern anybody, you ask? Well the intel core duo processor is the same that is being used in the most recent slew of windows laptops as well, so many are expecting to be able to dual-boot mac OSX and windows vista on the macbook pro, essentially the best of both worlds. Here are pictures of a disassembly of the macbook (already! lol) ANd here is a first impressions article
