Anyone know where you can get some pre made camera sets for P4 and PP? By "know where" I mean know of an artist here in the MP or elsewhere that makes and sells them?

Thanks,

BDC

Well, there are plenty of scenes with cameras included but there's the rub. Camera settings are usually associated with a specific scene so just cameras are probably going to be hard to find. There may be some out there but I have a whole lot of free files I've downloaded over the years and I don't find a single standalone camera set and I doubt there are many commercial ones.

Can you give us a clue as to what sort of camera sets you are looking for? I may be able to make some for you.

Thanks for the help guys. Lesbently, I was looking for some portrait style, camera sets so I can just point and click. In particular I am trying to figure out how too make a head shot of a figure thats in like a 120x120 thumb that does not look really little. I know it can be done, cause I see others making thumbs/avatars that have half a figure in them and you can see the figure clearly, when I try too, the figure is so small you can't see anything on them at all. If you guys can help me out witht his I'd be most appreciative. Thanks again, BDC

OK, I'm on the job. Do you want the render window automaticly sized to 120x120, and if so what screen resolution do you use?

Wow thanks lesbently, I use a screen resolution of 1024x768, as for resizing the window, I know how to do that, I just cannot get my camera right. Any help you can give to me would be really great. BDC

OK, here is what I have come up with. I made a new camera "P-Cam". The camera has a built in animation. By stepping through the animation you can try out diffrent positions for the camera, when you find one you like render the image.

P-Cam is parented to a smart prop named "Target", this will automaticly parent itself to the head of the currently selected figure when P-Cam is loaded. The Target is in the form of crosshairs these will not be visible once the image is rendered. The position of the Target is optimised for V2, for other figures change its yTranslation so that it is level with the eyes.

"PCam.zip" is not an automatic install, you will need to manually extract the files to a sub-filder of your Props folder.

To use P-Cam; in Poser select a figure in your scene, load P-Cam from the props pallet, when prompted to add frames answer "Yes". From the Props menu select "Ttarget_1" and yTran it untill it is level with the eyes. Now open the Animation Pallet and use the "Step Forward" button to cycle through the various camera views. When you find one you like render the image. The Target's crosshairs will not show in the rendered image, but if you find them annoying in preview you can hide them (Objact > Properties > Visible).

Because of the parenting arrangements with P-Cam, it will always give you the same view of the head no matter how the head is posed. If you want to change the overall orientation of the camera you should do this by rotating the Target_1 prop.

The files have only been tested in P4, but should work in P5, and will probably work in P6 as well.

-Les.
