Subject: OBJ to Morphs with GUI - Python Script

Netherworks ( ) posted Sun, 26 February 2006 at 3:58 PM · edited Thu, 25 July 2024 at 6:19 PM

PC only, due to TKinter.

MorphFromObjPLUS.jpg

For morphers, this script takes a multi-grouped .obj file which has been morphed into another application and transfers the individual morphs to the figure in the scene. It will only work on morphs made for the target figure.

The original script, which is freely redistributable, was created by svdl and I simply added the TK GUI and selectable options.

Great addition to the script! Thanks for sharing.

TK GUI - Tkinter dialog interface. Broken, as I understand it in MAC OSX, so it's marked PC-only. I do believe that Mac users using ProPack and an earlier OS can use it though.

Doesn't work with ProPack.

Oh, SWAMP, well that's not good :(

Okay, I'll mark it as being P5/P6 only - though I guess it might not work in P5 (on P6 mostly here) Was that ProPack on Mac or PC?

I'm on a PC. It does work fine in my Poser5 though.

Netherworks ( ) posted Sun, 26 February 2006 at 9:53 PM

Well basically I only did the interface and options for svdl's work so it must be using Methods that were only revealed as of Poser 5. ;)

That's correct. The SpawnFromGeometry method was introduced with Poser 5. There may be a workaround for ProPack, consisting of enumerating the vertices in the loaded geometry, calculating the differences with the corresponding geometry of the body part, and create the deltas from that difference. Not very clean, and probably pretty slow. I'm rather busy with my day job, I won't have the time to write that script.
