Wow the last four (4) look awesome and are definitely gallery worthy. :o)

GAH!.. rendo killed my lengthy reply.. so here goes again: 1: I like the play of likes in this one. Maybe cut the left part a bit so that the post in the foreground is at the position where the corner of the house is now. However that may make your picture too square if you don't like square pictures. Also the whites of the house have a funky noise/colour thing going. Is that just camera noise or jpg compression artifacts? Try ticking the (brightness) curve in the middle a bit up. 2: It's a bit busy. I don't know where to look. There is too much too see and I don't have a real focal point/subject. Too bad about the tree being cropped out like that. 3: Nice cloudscape. It feels like the picture is tilted a bit to the left. I'd probably crop out part of the dark area to the right, it's a bit prominent, and maybe half the area the grass takes. 4: I'd like to see a colour version of this. I'm missing variations in the greys, now it's just a grey mass with not enough contrast. 5: I quite like this one. But it does look a bit dark to me. That's probably because there's a big dark spot in the middle. Try making a tight crop on the beads on the right leaving the height intact, leaving about as much space to the left as you have now to the right. just my unprofessional opinion :) Hmm I don't think I ever commented on anyones pictures quite this lenghty :P

I think they all look great Marlene. Im gonna try to list my thoughts on each and every one of them....keep in mind though that im viewing them from my work-computer that doesnt even have proper drivers installed (UGH): 1. Beautiful photo....although perhaps a little dull. I think that one would be perfect for a little mirroring, dont you? 2. Beautiful garden with a path leading up to that castle. Looks really beautiful. I would change the hue of the sky to something more blue, than turquoise....although...remember, that im viewing from a icky screen....so for all i know it might be blue. 3. Gorgeous!!! Love the clouds and the light. The crop is also perfect. 4. B E A U T I F U L!!!!!!!! Gorgeous droplet...kinda curious on how it looks in color. 5. Another beautiful shot. Looks a little dark, but i am pretty sure that is my screens fault all together. 6. LMAO!!! Wicked shot of a cool looking character. To sum it up.....id say that they all are gallery-worthy...except perhaps the last one...and if you try something to make the first one more "interesting" in lack of a better word. As to #1,most of that noise/colour came from my postwork,I believe.I would have to go back to the original to see what caused it.I kind of liked it funky like that,but I will try your suggestion. Re #2-I thought maybe the same thing. In #3 the ground was actually tilted.So it didn't occur to me it might look wrong.I'm glad you pointed that out. With #4,I could look for the original of that flower... And #5,She was all dark actually.I used a spotlight for her face. Once again,thank you both.I would love to know what anyone else thinks.This is so helpful!

Aw,silly Gommie.Of course you helped.I'm really glad to get your opinion on these.And I appreciate your honesty,as well. Some mirroring on #1?Hmmmm...not a bad idea.Now,to try my first mirroring...which may come in handy soon... ;^) On #2,I tried to get the sky bluer,but it kept coming out that color.Don't ask me why,lol.Glad you like #3,and I will look for the color version of #4,as I said above.As to #5,I guess we should see if anyone else thinks it's too dark.It looks fine on my screen,so I don't really know. -M :^)

Out of the bunch 4 & 5 do it for me! Both are dramatic, interesting and composed really well! The others I feel are not as strong compositionally, but could be tweeked to bring out their potential.

#1 I like the perspective, but if there was people sitting there it would have more interest.
#2.Gallery for sure.
#3 Good scene...Maybe plain to you, but I like landscapes.
#4 I see you have the colour one now, and definitly like that better.Though I think it needs more of it.
It's ok to have it that cropped for the B&W though.
Means something different.
#5 Love the droplets, and the DOF there.If you have a larger original, I would like to see a bit more on the little drop.
#6 Always like self portraits.

So number 2 and 3 get my votes for you gallery.

AS for me, showing the diversity of our views, I go with 3 4,5 as the ones I would most likely view from a thumbnail. Something of the perspective of #2 does not work with me..eventhough it is a lovely shot. There is 1 1/2cents worth. Tom

LOL a drop more... I still totally liked the image you did for that challenge along with the fun one.That was my choice of the two. Never say goner, because you could possibly use them for something. I even keep some blurred images around. Dough is ok...least it's not Dog or Dug like I have seen before.

I also have a tone of keys, and all images can be used for something, wheter it be a background for lwig or some other graphic. Blur it more or give it a watercolour effect. They can look good.
