Dex,
Cool stuff! Any thoughts about writing up a cinefex style article about what you did and how you did stuff with Carrara and the other tools you used?

Thanks for the comments! Eric, that would be fun. We're still working on the sound effects for the last half of the movie, but once that's done, the picture is pretty much finished, so I'd really get into doing that. Maybe to post on the pandemoniummovie.com site, or elsewhere. Have to talk to Paul (the director) and see what he feels about doing a behind-the-scenes thing on the site. Dirk, thanks for the comment. It's been fun. Falconperigot -- thanks, also. I composed the score using Sonar (home edition) and my ancient Ensoniq SQ1 keyboard. I got the east-west symphonic orchestra silver edition for the orchestral sounds; the sounds are great. I wish I was a better composer to take advantage of it to its fullest extent, but overall I'm pretty happy with the score. Thanks, again! - Dex
Cool deal Dex -- I always think I'd like to get my friends together and do something like this -- and you've done it! Keep us posted when the final film is available!

Hi, all --Y'all may remember that I've been working on a feature for about a year and a half now in my off-time. (I do television production for a living, and am making the movie on the side.) I've posted about it a few times, gotten some wonderful help from folks here when I'd run into trouble with the train model I was building and other issues.
The movie has a ton of Carrara stuff -- there are scenes on board a moving train, in an alley, in an apartment, in a dance club, in an alternate dimension and more, all of which were created in Carrara. I've replaced props with 3D models in some scenes, and done some digital set extension. When it's done, we'll be making the entire 91 minute film available for free download under the Creative Commons license. We'll also make DVD's available.
For now, though, if you're so inclined, you can check out our site. It has two trailers (one of which I linked to here before), some stills and a little bit of info about the project. We'll be updating the page as more news becomes available, so keep checking back.
My usual caveat: the movie is about gay characters and some of the pictures are gay in nature (though nothing obscene). If you're offended by that stuff, don't check it out. If not, then please, give the site a look, and let me know what you think!
Thanks,
Dex
