1st; when in the "Picture Room", you must click on a new square, to bring in a new image, or you will just be overwriting your first image, and yes, all your 2D faces will change. 2nd; Use anything uncompressed (bmp, tif, psd), do not EVER use a jpg for anything out of Bryce. Bryce makes horrible jpgs. With a tree having fine detail, you may have to use a "Super (fine art antialiasing)" render. Start with a rpp of 16 (which should be the default). This should help define the edges. This kind of render takes longer, so try 16 rpp first, see if that helps, then if not, go higher. But, try saving all the images as tiffs first, see if that helps. Ah, I knew I could count on you! hugs you Okay, so I click on a new square down on the bottom??? is that what you mean? Makes sense. smacks head I will try the super fine see how that goes...thank god I saved the br5 files. LOL...except for the plain ones. will try both at tiff and see how that goes, I know the mask was a jpeg, but perhaps the first ones were too of the regular pic. Thanks so much for the help!
Sometimes I would run across a stubborn tree, and I would have to make my own object mask render; by making the materials of the whole tree ultra white, and putting a black 2d face behind the tree. (poser 4 style mask, lol) AS

Okay, fairly new at playing with bryce and setting up scenes and stuff. Been working on making some underwater scenes and here is my question. I used a 2d face to create a background, no problem. Then when I wanted to create some props using 2d faces, all my 2d faces changed to what I did for the props....can you only use the 2d face editor once?? Does that make sense? Why would it change all the background face like that? Did I do something wrong?
Secondly, been playing with the tree editor and created some cool trees that I would like to be able to use in other apps. I know you can export them, so I thought I would be able to do a simple white background and do an object mask...open it in psp and tada....instantly be able to get rid of the white background, as I have done this with poser being able to save as a TIFF....but...when I do this with bryce, I get gagged lines around the tree and cant get rid of them....am I saving the files wrong? The regular render I do a jpeg or tiff?? Im new here, so bear with me... If I do as a tiff, when I do the object mask, do i save that render that is white with the black background as a jpeg or tiff or do I save both pics as a tiff?? Any Idea what I am talking about???
