Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 15 2:13 am)
Poser uses two types of scale channel 'scale' and 'propagatingScale', there is usually nothing on the dial to indicate which type of channel is being used. When 'propagatingScale' is used the children will scale when the parent is scaled. This can cause some strange distortions in some situations.
The fix is to open the file in a text editor and Search and Replace the string "propagatingScale" with "scale".

blizzard- sorry I'm late chimming in on this and I hope the site will still forward this. There's another answer to your problem. example: you have primative one shaped and sized as you want. You have Primative 2 shaped and sized. Position p-2 where you want it in relation with p-1. Then export the project as an obj file- making sure in the drop down screen that both primatives are checked for exporting. Then when you import the obj file, both primatives will stay the way you shaped them and in the postion you placed them in. I've been in the process of building a train entirely in poser usine both Poser primatives and primative sets I've collected over the last few years and I've found that some primatives just don't like each other! This export-import idea seems to work everytime. Hoipe it helps.
I think your on to something here. :) The results were very interesting. But... What if p1 & p2 have different textures? I exported my house and imported it, it came in with one texture, the Redwood. Looked nice. :) But not quite what I wanted. By changing the propagatingScale I was able to parent most of the sections together, Roofs, Decks ect. but when parenting it all to say the 1st floor I got an error something about multiple somethings. Darn I should of written it down. My drum kit worked without exporting. It's 27 parented figures I can load it into any file flawlessly. The house... A different story. Basicaly I've been just starting with the house file adding figures & doing a save as. Don't worry about late chimes. I'm closer now. I can feel it. Thanks. Scott

Awhile back I posed a 27 piece Drum Kit & parented them all together so I could reload the entire kit in any new scene.
Parenting & loading worked flawlessly.
I have recently been building a house using primitives.
Cylinders boxs spheres ect... All get different enlargements.
When I try to parent (example) a cylinder to a box the cylinder deforms. Parenting same shape primitives together works fine.
My goal is to be able to save the house & reload it in any new scene.
Any thoughts on why there deforming or a work around?
Thanks for ay thoughts or direction.
