Hey everyone!! Lotta great stuff here... I really need to stop in more often! :) I have a question about digital cameras - one in particular. Basically, I'm wondering if anyone here has or does use the KodakDC3200?? If so, how is it? I'm looking to buy a digicam, but don't have a huge budget and this one looks like it might be fairly decent for it's price. But I always like to get the opinion of someone who's used a product rather than taking the company's word for it - because you know they're gonna say good things! LOL Also... I'm curious - do all digital cameras save the images as .jpg's or are there any out there that will save in .bmp or something not so lossy as .jpg?? I hate .jpg's usually because I like to do a lot of post work and my .jpg's always get so "icky" looking when I resave them after post work. I like to do postwork on .bmp or .tif and then save as .jpg when it's completed. Just curious... all the cameras I've seen so far save as .jpg so I'm probably S.O.L. on that! Hi Brandi! I use a Fuji MX1200, and though some magazines didn't rate it too highly I've got to admit I like it - the quality is brilliant considering it only cost 200 (GB) and that was with a 16M memory card that holds 50 images on high quality mode. I've noticed here that the similar priced Kodak (not sure the model) is only 1 million pixels, compared to 1.3 on the Fuji. My next digi will be another Fuji. Regarding files, the cameras I've used all downloaded into the pc in their own format, and it was the download program which allowed you to save the file in the format of your choice. Heya, To throw in my input, I use a Fuji FinePix 2400Zoom for all of my images. I got it as a present, but I think it runs in the $400 range. I haven't actually run into the problem of the JPG loss affecting my images - this is probably partially due to the fact that I take the images at 1600x1200 resolution. The large image size means the normal edge effects for JPG's don't have nearly as much impact on the image - at least, that's been my experience. Most cameras also have an 'uncompressed' save mode (usually TIFF format, I think), but the images are gigantic so you can only fit 2 or so on a memory card at a time. Malenchite
