Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 13 11:02 am)
do you mean making them behave like, say, a door and the wall, where the door is parented to the wall and rotates not around it's middle but around an axis that goes through the edge closest to the wall? If yes, you might want to parent one part to another and later play with Joint editor of the parented part and change the coordinates of the "center" closshairs. The green one is the actual center of rotation, move it into the point you want the object to move around. Then save the whole bunch into the Props library. It is this way in Poser 5 at least. I hope I understood you correctly :) Michal 4blueyes
hmm... when you save the bunch as a prop it has to give you a choice of what to save: "Add To Library: Select Subset". there you see a hierarchy of all props in the scene, choose all you want to keep and save them as one prop. At least it works this way in P5, I have no exparience with P6 yet. Michal
You might try this ...
Use the Group Edit Tool to group each separate object (and "Assign Material" if desired) ...
... then "Export" both objects checking the "Include Groups ..." option.
Next ... when you "Import" the object that you just exported, it will be a single object.
This is known as Dr Geep's "glue." ;=]

I am trying to combine two objects (obj files from shade) in Poser 6 to create a new prop (where the two items are "hinged"). I am sure there must be a quick easy way to do this, but the circular references in the Poser manual and tutorial guide are driving me crazy! Thanks for any help you can offer.
