Be grateful... this started as a long winded explanation... I tend to do that. An illegal address call is when the program tries to make use of an address that it isn't allowed to. kind of like a three year old being told TO write on the walls... you get, "But I'm not supposed to." If a program tries to make use of, say, the system ROM, to write to, it'll stop it. also, sometimes... long ago.... a program might be told to use RAM that was "Way out in left field".... because someone added an extra digit, by accident. THAT one would either send the sys off to la la land, or just crash. On the other side, how much ram do you have on your system, and how much have you allotted to Windows? This can also provoke that error. Lou.

Lou: I think one of my problems IS Ram. I only have 512 M. and I'm not likely to get more anytime soon.:( Still I'm managing to have a lot of fun with what I have. :) Reddog9: No, you're not missing a thing. It's me. I'm still such a newbie. I still don't have all the buttons memorized. Everyday I find some new and wonderful option . Sometimes I I get so enthused I jump right into a project and learn it the wrong way. LOL That's what I did with the animation thing. Thanks for showing me the way. I was trying to export it from the drop down file menue. :)
At this point, I'd need to know which platform you're using... if it's XP, then you can "tell" it to apply most of the resouces to the program in use. there are a number of tweaks you can use that will help, But I'd still need to know about the platform.... if you're on a MAC, that's out of my range of knowledge, but there are plenty of Mac users who CAN help. Lou. You've hit on the MOST important thing in all this... you're having fun with it.

ok... two things you can do... one is this... go to the start menu, then control panel, then; select system, click on the advanced tab, then click performance >settings, click on the advanced tab, you will see three settings.... for "processor scheduling", set it to programs, for memory usage, set that one to programs. then click apply, at the bottom.... to go any further, I'd need to know how many partitions you have, and how big they are.... that's the third setting on that menu. if your partitions are large enough, you can reset page caches to a better setting than windows management does. I'm sorry, not enough coffee today..... Partitions.... That's how many times do you have your Hard drive divided up.... in other words, you have a "C" drive... do you have "D","E","F" drives?... each letter, except for "A", and whatever you are using for cd, or DVD, are your partitions... so, if you have, say C, D, and E... then a CD ROM drive, you have 3. The next thing is, how big they are... the best place to do that is to go to start, then click on "My Computer"... for each one, you'd RIGHT click on the Icon, then slick on "Properties", that will tell you how big it is, and how "full" it is. The other way is to start Windows Explorer... not internet explorer, then right click on the individual "drives", and select Properties.... you'll get the same info. Lou.
BTW, as time goes by, you'll find keeping an eye on that info very important. An animation... GOOD! Yer doing better, then.

Is it possible to export a Blender animation in the form of an .avi or some other more popular format than Vrml or .wrl? I can save as a .wrl but I can't open the animation in any other program. Bryce should open it, but just crashes when I try...says it's out of memory. The animation is NOT that big! I'd like to be able to save it in a file format that can be played by popular media players that everyone has...like Microsoft Media Player or Real Player. And suggestions or help would be appreciated. :)
