Ok...dig this....yesterday when i come home I notice a weird pixle pattern under my cursor...which is kind of annoying...but could be a simple computer glitch. So I rebooted and it is still there. I then run a virus scan, adaware, and spybot...just to make sure its not some nasty on my machine...and its all clear....but the pattern remains. Then this morning I open P6 and when I load an object into that window, that whole window is broken up into a weird pixelated grid pattern that looks like a checker-board on crack. So to me it sounds like something in my machine is dieing.....does any of the more technical minded folk out there have any ideas? (btw...Propack and photoshop didnt have a problem at all )

Hmm, re-install the card and make sure you have latest drivers, etc. When I say re-install, I also mean to unseat the card and reseat it, as well as unintstalling in software. Give it a good dusting with canned air as well. Then if it continues, it is either the card, or the screen. Try another monitor after trying above.

To me, I would clean. Like files all messed up on hard drive. To many files you do not need. I have a habit of that. Registries....prob some left behind from uninstalls, conflicting. Norton Utilities is great for cleaning. Speedisk is my favorite for defraging harddrives. Also when computer is off. It is great to spray the fans with a can of air. Do not do this in the house. If you do, dust will fly all over like crazy. Learned from experience. I used to install windows every three months or so. Now I haven't reinstalled my windows XP for over a year and a half due to proper cleaning from both software and hardware. :-)

This sounds like something that happened to me a while ago. The strange pixilation started in one of my daughters pc games, (The Sims 2, heavy demand on lesser graphic cards) then I noticed it appearing in Photoshop 7 (another demanding program) so I cleaned and reinstalled, but that wasnt the problem. My problem was that my video cards fan had stopped working and I was cooking my ATI 9000 Pro card it over heated, crashed and burned. Had to replace it with something better, anyway that was my problem yours might not be that bad. PS:check the fan...
