Does anyone out there have any recomendations for a software for use in creating models for use as add ons to characters in Poser. I'm looking for something that will let me create unique clothing and hair styles. Any advice would be appreciated.

Sorry, I should have thought to include that. I am running Windows. Thx.

Anima8 with the uvmapper is great for stuff like making morphs and altering clothing. Price is good, too. (www.anim8or.com) Also, strata is free...www.strata3d.com.. it is a little more complex, but renders nicely and has some built in lighting and f/x. And...I just tripped over one called marble clay the other day, free also...and I really, really really like that one...because it is EASY!!! (Lost the url, though.)

Thanks Poppi! I will go looking for these. You don't happen to have URL's for Marble Clay do you? Also, I take it you don't make use of any of the more popular commercial packages (3d Studio, Ray Dream, etc). Is that because you find them to be overkill for your needs? If the ones you list are easy to use and will handle my limited modeling needs for Poser then that would be OUTSTANDING! I'd love to NOT have to pay 1500 bones for 3d Studio to get this complicated monster package, 98% of which I would never use. Any thoughts?

Easy, and not too big...I don't know. I am not ever wanna become a fulltime mesh maker..but, I do like dinking with stuff for me poser folk. Simple suits me just fine, for my needs..and you actually can make complete characters, if you get proficient with ANY program. As for the wonderful Marble Clay program...I found that on altavista...doing a search for spatch. Also...a search for Pov Ray will bring you lots of free goodies as well. Here is the Marble Clay link...I love it...Enjoy. Pop...pop...pop

thanks again for the quick response to my questions. I appreciate the help. I get the sense that the app that you like the best is this new Marble Clay so that is definatly one I will take a look at. I went to the site though and was curious - I don't speak Japanese. Is that going to be a problem? Have you found any info on this software posted in English?

Just hit English. I have the English version of Marble Clay.
