Subject: Why does this happen?

Why does this happen? I export a single-element prop file (PP) of a room in Poser 4 as an OBJ file, then re-import it without, repeat without any modification whatever. Everything is the same except that the windows which formerly were square holes in the walls of the room are now solid, filled in. Why? What can I do?

well, it's not a smoothing problem if it's p4. but the way you should re-import such an object (if using p4) is with all boxes unchecked in the wavefront obj import screen.

my guess would be that the square "holes" were filled with a plane with transparent mat (to simulate glass). When you exported/reimported, the transparent material was no longer applied to the model.

Bravo, you're both right! Checking all boxes brings back the TXT and TR options, and then the glass can be made transparent." I am very grateful to you both for taking the thought and the time.

The .OBJ format can't carry transparency info.
