Whoo Hoo! I get to post a pic! I really had a tough time, cuz there are several I have been hanging onto and just can't do anything "Good" with. Like this one, I took last fall in Death Valley. This is the Furnace Creek Inn ($300 a night plus)! Very cool looking old building. Have at it folks!!! Can't wait to see what you come up with!!!! Hugs! Kim

What a lovely home.....can i have it? Huh? Can i...please? I really like what you did to the place Kim, that dark sky really looks cool. Heres my quick attempt....trying to get myself back into the forum-sadle...saddle? Oh well...

How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is supposed to be fire and brimstone?

LOL @ Andreas...you really like that lake front property, don't you? ;] Tough image to come up with new ideas for. I really do like the "punch" Kim gave hers. =] An IR attempt. The yellow walls wanted to dissappear so I had to play around with the hues a bit to get this. I'm not thrilled, but it is the best I can do for now.

Good mods done so far, I will add another 2 for you. 1st is holiday brochure style cropped and saturated 2nd is solarised.

And every one said, 'If we only live,
We too will go to sea in a Sieve,---
To the hills of the Chankly Bore!'
Far and few, far and few, Are the lands where the Jumblies live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue, And they went to sea in a Sieve.

... Kim, I realized that this could be a good subject for an example of BAD advertising ..... :)

I hope you do not mind my playing around with it.

Excellent entries ... so far.

Carlos.

Whoo hoo!!!! We're having fun now!!!! Great ideas everyone! I'm impressed!!!! Kort really has something there with the B&W look, maybe cropped and some way to bring out those rocks a little more. Richard..... I like both your looks, I never would have tried the solarize filter, but I like it!!!! Gordon........where did you get that picture?????? Come on.... you were there were'nt you???? It looks so cool with that lighting.....how did you do that??? And Carlos, I love that!!!! You can do a real estate ad for me anytime!!!! I'm all about fun!!! LOL :P

UKmac ( ) posted Mon, 03 April 2006 at 11:54 PM

Nice postworks everyone. Gordon, that is one heck of a p/w. Nice one. OK, I've been sitting here for just under an hour trying to change the sky and gave up!! Could get a new sky in but around the palm tress was doing my head in. There must be an easy way, come on Gordon, please tell all, how did you do it so masterfully..... Steve

oldworld ( ) posted Tue, 04 April 2006 at 12:38 AM

i used an overlay effect and did some work with a layer mask...it works well if you have the right kind of sky (lights and darks in areas that don't interfere with the original subject)....in other words you probably wouldn't be able to duplicate it without the same sky...me thinks anyway :)
