Subject: Poser scene into C5 scene?

Gordon_S ( ) posted Thu, 06 April 2006 at 10:35 PM · edited Fri, 10 January 2025 at 7:27 AM

Hi All, Here's what may be a dumb question. I'm looking at my manuals here, and not seeing an answer, though. Is it possible to import a Poser scene INTO a Carrara scene?? Like if I have a desert scene set up in C5, and I want to bring a Poser set into that, how would one do it? Thanks!!

What version c5 do you have? Don't know if you can do that w/o transposer. I know you can with it which is in c5pro. That should be a pz3 file. There is a manual on transposer that will help there.

No need to think outside the box....

In C5Pro you can import a pz3 into an existing Carrara scene. You can also import individual figures and props directly from your Poser /character and /props folders. Don't know for sure about C5 with Transposer tacked on.

I've been using it for PZ3/PZZ importing. I'm using C5Pro.

It works just fine. In fact, I build modules in Poser, then combine them in C5P. It keeps Poser off its knees. M

Yes, I do have C5 Pro. I've been using it to bring in Poser6 scenes and render them. Oh, ho!!! I just figured it out. You open the C5P scene, then use the "Import" function. Duh! Why didn't I try that before? I kept using "Open". Sheesh... So, now I'm wondering how to do it the other way around. Supposing you Import a P6 scene into C5P, and then decide you need a desert scene to support it? In other words, how to get the C5P desert and sky into an already imported P6 scene? Thanks for your help! Gordon

Same way.

You may find you will want to use the other poser formats. Not always an entire scene.

Oh, I see. You just use "Import" again, with a C5P scene. Nice! Thanks for your help!! Gordon

I found that if you open the browser, tab is with the animation palette. You can chose what ever you want and just drag it over to the Scene window.
