A question came up about watermarks, and all I could answer was that PSP has the ability to do a watermark, but you still have to register for it to be activated. I found a link that has apps to do watermarking, but would like some more input on it. Has anyone here used any of these? Any tips appreciated.

PS has a feature that lets you do that...I've never looked into it overmuch. If anyone knows of a free, cross-platform solution, I'd love to hear about it.

Actually, Jack, I was able to open the first one once I saved it. It didn't open if I clicked open, but it opened after I saved it and opened it from my comp. Thanks for the doc. I've thought about this from time to time too.

Hmm I have tried watermarking and fell foul of problems if the images were too small after watermarking a file and then trying to reduce the same image as a thumb common practice for many of us here.. The Canon data verification may be worth looking at if you have a lot of images that you want to protect if you are a Canon user but is rather expensive. There is a new version to cover less Pro spec cameras DVK-E2 Like its predecessor, this kit can verify whether or not a photo is an untouched original. But its use of a Secure Mobile (SM) card reader, instead of an IC card reader, makes it more compact than the previous version. Moreover, the versatile DVK-E2 is able to verify images photographed by the EOS-1Ds as long as they are appended with a data verification image and will work with the 20D

The ultimate level here is a usage/web search for your watermark with reporting feature. A concern for many of us fer'shure; I'm trying small file sizes relative to print size, heavy compression helps, but isn't a firm solution, but it is free. One artist I know has a password protected web gallery, and only gives it to brick & mortar galleries, or previous/possible clients [that he's meant in fairs or exhibitions]. Do you make a living off of your artwork like some of us? If so the web has some real obvious benefits, but some terrible drawbacks as we all know. Before I put my art galleries up with my commercial site, i contacted a couple of dozen on-the-web artists about the sales that they generated of the art that was specifically posted. Minimal to none was the reply, but many commissions and/or arrangements to view at a real gallery occured often enough that the risk & expense seemed worth while. Bonne chance !
