Subject: How do you export the animations in FBX?

Hi gang,

I'm playing around with Carrara5.
I'm trying to use Carrara as the middle man app. and import Poser animations, then save them as .FBX to use them in other programs.
But when I save as .FBX in Carrara. The animation gets stripped out and all I get is the default pose and skeleton.

Is there a special way to save .FBX files with the animations in tact?

Hope you don't mind me asking, but it helps the process of identifying the problem and helping to answer your question. You are using Carrara5Pro aren't you? I ask this because the "standard" ver. of Carrara5 won't import or export .FBX files.

No problem dan.
Yes. It's the Pro version.

The key frames are there in Carrara before I save to .FBX. But the animation keyframes are gone when I open the .FBX file.
All it saves is the figure in the default pose, and it's bones.

This was discussed early on. Something about it not supporting animation. I don't know whether that is true or not. I would send this to eovia to get a definitive on whether it supports fbx animation. Which would really make sense, of course.

No need to think outside the box....
    Just make it invisible.

Wow. That's really bad news.
Thanks for the replies.

That is correct it doesn't support FBX export of animations.
