Yeah I was afraid of that.
As for shade, it was just something I read last about so it kind of stuck in my head o.O I'm sure it's helpful with fx, also something we don't really have fully in studio (particles etc). then again, what's not yet there might come.
In any event, even with plugins available from Daz it starts to look like a costly adventure. So I'm going to think well before I buy anything, or I end up with tools I can't use.
Hi FranR,
There are a couple of inexpensive utilities that you can use. First, is Auto Group Editor. This is a utility to split the clothing mesh to approximate the mesh of the figure's joints and body parts. Next, is Quick Conform, also by MarkDC. This will allow you to use a character or donor cr2 to use to rig your clothes. As for some free utilities, there's UVMapper by Steve Cox, MorphManager by Mr. X, and Cr2Editor. I'll try to get some links up in a few minutes. I hope this helps? -Starkdog

As I've mentioned in a other thread I don't own Poser, I do all the rendering in D|S. Now there are a few handy untils out there, 2nd skin, P wizard (conform/object), and 10 in 1 toolkit. They all deal with something that has my interest. Making clothing and making it easier/faster to do this.
Now, I can't make clothing in D|S so I use a 3d package for it which can export the files in obj. Though my earlier versions where merely a painted on 2nd skin and not even using a bump map (but I learn quickly hehe).
So my focus will be to try and make clothing for poser/D|S. Which of the earlier mentioned programmes would you recommend? Or am I really out of luck and do I realy need Poser/shade 8 to create custom and posable clothing?
