Subject: exporting image sequence vs video file for animation

Jalad ( ) posted Sun, 23 April 2006 at 6:42 PM · edited Mon, 11 November 2024 at 12:12 AM

I have heard people say that they prefer to export image sequences, in case Poser (or your whole machine) crashes, and to have more control over how the animation is put together later.  But does Poser have a function that allows you to put image sequences into video files after the fact?  Or do you have to use an external program for that?  And if so, what do people use?

Thanks!

You would require another program to assemble the animation video.  There are a number of programs available.  The main thing to look for is that the program will handle the image file format.  I sometimes use JASC Animation Shop, VideoWave and/or ScreenBlast.  There must be dozens available though.  There is also a number of free programs.  Virtual Dub is a good application.

Just looked at my copy of Virtual Dub (1.5.10) and there's a link to the site http://www.virtualdub.org/index.

Best Wishes,
