Ok so my poser 5 crashed yesterday and I closed it out with those 3 cute little buttons.

But then it wouldn't reload just kept crashing.  So I unistalled, reinstalled... But it still won't open. It crashes at the opening  credits.  I have poser 4 installed and it works fine.  Need help..

Hmmm... I didn't have quite the same thing, but I used to get screwed up files. Have a look if there are any temporary poser renders in the poser directory. Maybe it borked the template or something and is trying to open the temp file? Not sure if that will help but it's worth a look. I can't for the life of me remember what they were called tho, sorry. :/

Thank for the advice silke and the article pleonastic.  I tried what e-frontier said and that didn't help.

I just don't get why installing it clean doesn't fix it?  How can I live with out my poser? LOL

Drag, Sometimes even tho we uninstall it will not take the file folder completely out. You'll need to go to your "Programs" file (if using Windows, using the "My Computer") and check to see if the uninstaller took your folder out that could be one problem :)

Thanks  ryusliangel I checked out e-frontiers web sight.  Didn't do the clean reinstall the way they say to do it.  So will try again tomorrow.  Keeping fingers crossed until I can  use them again.

You might try installing to a different folder too.

Hello everyone:  Well tried reinstalling it again the way e-frontier said to no avail.  Will try one more time aphoadleys idea and see.  Then it's out the window with poser5. HAHA I have poser 4 but of course everything I'v bought in the last year is for 5 only lol..  Maybe it's time for a upgrade argggg.

That's really odd tho. Is it still crashing at the same point?

Yipee... I finally got it working.  It was reallying getting me down.  I finally found a errant poser.dta file wandering around in my program files.  Deleted it ,reinstall poser5 ,updated and now I'm back  on track.  Guess I won't have to throw it out the window this time...  Thanks everyone for your help and support.  I couldn't of  done it with out ya.
