Gee, color choices are incredibly individual. I am frankly surprised to see such a post from one who would consider themselves an artist. Wild :)

Thoughts from a total newbie .. i haven't posted any work yet, just one to the monthly contest. Been browsing around, looking at all the stuff, reading tutorials. I'm just learning about Apophysis & PSP8, the two programs I have, so any constructive criticism is appreciated, when I do get stuff posted.

My thoughts on criticism? If I'm too thin skinned to accept thoughts from others on what I can do to make my stuff better, then I probably shouldn't put myself out there. And if there are mean spirited comments, I can consider the source, and accept that those comments have more to do with that person's crap then with me. I just happen to be the lucky recipient, and I can choose get all bent, or ignore them.

I find this all interesting that you're not pleased with the color choices of some work. I also appreciate the tips you posted on working with color. But honesty I would like someone to comment that they don't like the color if it is in a form of helping and teaching about gradients. But really isn't it one's own taste and right to choose their color? Hmmm...Just my two cents.
