Today Renderosity recinded all recent and previous offers for me to have a store here. Apollo will be retired and I am leaving the community. New info is at my site.

I leave angered and resentfrul at merchants like ernyoka, members like Acadia, and store people like JenyK

To railroad and troll and to ignore it and pretend it isn't happening is despicable. So the combined Poser stores, witho their secrets and intigues have managed to squeeze me out. COngratulations but at least they had to band together, if even in secret and over years to do it.

"TOS" means "To obey silently"

I leave with my honesty, my convinctions and zero respect for a level of commnity wide corruption I happily leave behind.

To my supports I thank them and wish you well in life. To those that sat silent over years and sites, I abhore you. To the mentally ill that now run our forums, well you wou;dn't understand anyway.

Goodbye,

Anton

PS: DOn't bother sending me IM's and email now with silent support. I am sorry but the anger I have over such lack of honesty is not capable of ebing expressed.

I'm really saddened by this news.  Anton has been a great merchant and teacher in this community.  It's unfortunate that these forums, which were once a celebration of art, have decended into a playground where some feel the need to be cruel to others.

The celebration of art ended pretty much around the time it became the celebration of the WalMartization of Runtime Buffet.

How quaint - Anton's accusing others of doing to him what he did to other people. specifically to railroad and troll.

Definitely a case of the Pot calling the Kettle black.

Anton should'nt have tried to go for a trial by public opinion.

His actions, false accusations, for which he has yet to apologise are what have caused this.

If he hadn't 've behave like the egotistical drama queen he is and respected the TOS, things probably wouldn't have come to this.

Anton - grow up.

PapaBlueMarlin ( ) posted Thu, 04 May 2006 at 5:22 PM

Interesting that you accuse him of violating TOS when you are the one doing the name calling.

AlleyKatArt ( ) posted Thu, 04 May 2006 at 5:44 PM

Guys, try to behave with a modicum of decorum?

Even if you don't agree that Anton, himself, was a good person, surely we can all agree that Apollo Maximus was a good figure, and that it will be missed.

I watched the infringement thread unfold - saw the unfounded accusations aimed at various merchants and other members of this community, including the accusations of poeple using clone accounts.
If I'd've posted in that thread anton probably would've said this account was a clone account, because I've been a member for 6 years and I've only posted 150 odd times.

I also saw Anton's posts in that thread being edited to make him look like the victim, when he threw out unfounded accousations.

My comments are based on my observation of the infringement thread and seeing Anton's drama queen behaviour develop over these past 6 years.

As far as calling Anton a drama queen, well if the cap fits.

Based  on his previous 'I'm leaving this community & never coming back.', I'll give it 6 months to a year, & I reckon he'll be back with some new toys to show us.

I've only known Anton for the time that Apollo has been out.  So I'm not sure of his past 'tantrums' or what not.  I am sad that he thinks that we think so little of him.  I didn't say much during all of this because if there is not 100% proof on either side then I usually just stay quiet and observe (a Capricornian trait that I conform pretty well to).  I'm sorry if he abhors me for not coming forward to defend him but as I stated there really wasn't anything for me to do in this sort of case anyway.

Clark is NOT Apollo and probably never will be but Clark is cute in his way and hopefully body morphs, clothes and other accessories will follow in time for him (I think he needs a nice ring, gold chain and ear rings!! 😉 ).  I like variation and while this can be achieved with Apollo it's like saying to your boyfriend or girlfriend.  "I'm bored with you, go dye your hair a different color"  Mesh is still the same and all that under it all.

New meshes are fun and exciting to play with.  Sometimes you waste your money (like I did with Miki and her truly horrible rubber banded joints at the elbow that leaves her forearm looking quite disfigured) but so far Clark is just fine in most areas and surely does not have this sort of an issue.  Yes, I am aware of the fixes that eF doing for James, Jessi and Miki but it's not going to help the amount of money spent on the other goodies when they are rendered useless when the new figure updates are released!!  😠

Shahara gave us a nice texture pack, some eyes and morphs have been released and hopefully FBM's will follow!  Just wish he would have at least rigged the mouth to open up!  Sheesh!!  What a chore for Trekkie......

I'm just sorry that Anton was so angry that he feels he has to close up shop and go.   Very sad!

All the best to you Anton, I mean it! 😄

Richard ;-)~

Goodbye, Apollo. You WILL be missed. And I was just getting to know you.

These last few days/weeks have been a bad dream for all of Poserdom, and I hope in the future that things that should remain private will. From infancy into the dark ages, I guess. Perhaps there's some enlightening around the corner.

Goodbye, Apollo.

The sad thing is that Clark just plainly isn't a good character and if Anton had just kept this between the mods and out of the public then Clark's interest to most people would already be petering out, it's 15 minutes just about up.

In contrast Apollo being superior in most ways to even Daz's male characters and being recently connected to CL had a very promising and bright future.  Possibly the first realistic non toony character that could hold his own against Daz's figures.

Also he was far more likely to have had Renderosity kick the Clark character from the site if he hadn't put them in such an awkward predicament.  He made it almost impossible for them to do so without causing major discontentment among members, not because of Clark's connection to Apollo but instead because of Anton's behavior towards so many members.

I've never seen anyone self destruct so badly before as Anton here, it was like watching a train wreck in slow motion with everyone who supported him unable to stop what he was doing to himself. It was a sad sight to behold.

Personally if I was Anton, I'd open a little store myself, sell my wares myself and if people want to buy them that's fine, if they don't that's fine too.  I'd stay away from Renderosity or the other Poser community sites and just try and get some enjoyment from doing what he does best... creating great things.

Very well said!

Regardless of which way one feels about this recent episode, he has made many very valuable contributions to the whole Poser community over the past decade...I, for one, will not forget that fact. Hopefully he'll find a way to stay in the game in the future.

Many, many times over the years, he admonished people to mind their own business. For him to say he abhors those who chose to mind their own business before Renderosity's decision is not only absurd, it's really insulting. You're a good man RAM and I don't wish Anton any harm either, but you nobody owes him an apology for choosing not to take sides.

Ok, stupid question here, but why not take apollo back to RDNA?  I saw that he was at CP and marked as 2006 while RDNA has stuff marked 2005.  Honestly I thought you' sold AM and and wasa bit surprised

I am not interested in yet another figure so I didn't bother reading the thread being discussed; and I'm glad that I didn't bother to open it.  So it's only through "hear-say" that I know anything about the "recent episode", and I don't put much stock in "hear-say", so I remain neutral.

Yes he has, and I won't either. He is a man that is a master of his craft.

Quote - Hopefully he'll find a way to stay in the game in the future.

Hopefully, because it would be a shame and a huge loss to the Poser community if he were to just up and quit and leave.  However, there is no mistaking that he has some serious damage control to do and some bridges to mend.

I hope he takes a break and takes stock of things and returns with a clear head and heart.

Well Acadia, I have to admire you. If I'm had my name mentioned is such a self-absorbed and obnoxious temper tantrum I'd doubt very much if I'd be rushing to his defence. You're obviously a better person than he.

i'd like to add my voice to those who have suggested that you run your own store at your own site. that avoids having to deal with the party of the middleman, and the almost inevitable conflicts that brings. and even without presuming malice on anyone's part, those conflicts might not be worth the stress. it'd be a real loss to the poser community if apollo were to remain permanently retired. he's a yardstick for what a human poser figure can be. so i am hoping you'll bring him back. take a break, by all means. step back and evaluate all your options. take some of the criticism to heart, too; you did yourself damage here, which IMO didn't need to happen -- tantrums don't come across as professional. but at the risk of sounding sappy: first and foremost, take care of your own joy in your creations. that's so damn important. don't allow that to be destroyed by anyone, including suspected rippers, including yourself. joy before ego. really. :) best wishes.

you seem to have plenty of issues with stores..or are restless, or something...DAZ, RDNA, now CP... but no loss you leaving CP....they have the worst customer service of any store on the net.

I think you need to start up your own store, then you can do and run it the way it suits you...or if web store is not your bag, find someone to collaborate with. You have plenty of creators making stuff for APollo...get them together and crank up your own business.

If the former, please could you supply a reference to the public information to which you are refering?

I post it here because forums appear to be his favourite method of manipulation, however, I regret posting it and potentially causing the parties involved more unpleasantness. To them, I apologise. Some people just get away with their actions and the unfairness of it sickens me to my stomach, and as such I am unsubscribing from this thread.

I try very hard to see the best in people and don't make statements such as I did unless I'm very upset.
