Well, ive been absent for some time now, and this is the reason. Im temporarily going from 3D to the real thing, and building Villa Rochr. :)

It was either this or a Murcielago. Unfortunatly my gf has a vote as well...

You two have great taste, love the windows in the main area. Hardwood throughout? Excellent! Maple or Oak?

Yeah, those windows are extras and not part of the original drawings, but pretty much a must have. :) Combined with the high ceiling they make wonders with the overall atmosphere. The floor is all oak, apart from clinkers in the bathrooms, washing area and a piece at the entrance. Figured it was the best choice.

Ok. It's got 2 (external) doors. Now all it needs is 2 seats, 4 wheels and an engine, and maybe a slight re-design, including removal of extraneous stuff (annoying partitions and superfluous windows) and little streamlining, and there you go:-)) LOL, Cheers, Diolma

Of course some additional modifications will be necessary. I still need to make room for the tachyon-based subspace array, to "phone home", as well as some steel beams with wires in the living room/kitchen area and reinforce the roof. It needs to be able to hold the weight of the landing platform in case the relatives decide to pay a visit. A couple of extra wardrobes for the tentacle warmers and... Arrgh, all these choices... :)

Looks great. I am trying to model a house in Rhino to render in Bryce, but the molding is driving the file size into the stratosphere.

Unfortunatly the house is not my design, only the modified windows and moving/altering some of the walls and the interior.(see attached original and link) If i could design(and afford)a house from scratch, it would be larger, more open and have a second floor partially opened between floors. We actually checked out something close to that at first, where the living room had almost 5 meters to the ceiling. A mucho nicer house, but it also costed 400000 sek more. This one cost enough already with 2.5 mil sek. :) Dann, Hopefully sometime next summer. Ill fire up the BBQ. :)

Even so, being able to design the layout must be great. I've often thought about taking a sledge-hammer to a couple of walls once or twice in this crappy semi-detatched I live in, but of course I had to think again 'cos the landlord would've kicked my ass :-D

Anyway, cool pad that - with plenty of room for a spacecraft or two.

I can always mount a couple of thrusters on the damn thing if i get bored with the surroundings. Yeah, those are a lot better than the originals. And the best part is that they cost as much as the small arched one. :)

Reminds me of when I designed the deck for the back of our house - as a level in Quake 2. (I hadn't discovered Bryce yet. :) It worked out terrific, except that Mrs. Gibs kept asking "Isn't there some way I can walk around and see what it will look like WITHOUT having the ray gun held out in front of me?"

Speaking of rust, I have been working with a multilayer multimapped rusty painted metal shader for my updated chinese junk project. Rather pleased with it so far. (Reworking the junk UVDan made for me into a C4D compatible steampunk future flying ship which I will be compositing into an image donated by ICM.) apologies Rudy, this is not intended as a thread hijack BTW, those windows cost the same?, go for yours!!!

Hope you don´t mind me reviving an old thread here.
Last year i presented my biggest "model" so far, so it´s only fair to show you an update and what it´s going to look like. :)

The final compromise i presented to the architects and the company building the house, and a photo taken earlier today. Basically only the shell, but finally up. :)

@AGENTSMITH. People always ask me why I don't make a profession out of my art. Your comment about boring commisions answers that. Art is my way of enjoying myself, and I will NEVER let anybody turn my fun into something I don't like.

Lol, Gog :D

Cyba_storm,  problem with those type of girls is that you´ld eventually have to sell the Lambo to finance their shopping addiction. Besides, girls who let you spend this much time in front of a computer are worth more than 10 Lambos. (Ok, that last part was a lie, but you know what i mean...)

Pakled, i thought you knew that us aliens are heat resistant. :)
I think those windows are facing to south east. All i know is that we have sun all day.

Bikermouse, ok, i´ll send you one if you provide with the tachyons yourself.

Btw, since i´ve posted most of the house anyway, i might as well post the rest that are finished. Also based on the blueprints, and pretty much what it´s going to look like.

Yeah, that´s right. I made these as a help for choosing tiles and stuff. (cheaper than ripping down the stuff later on) :)
The only real use i´ve had of Maxwell so far, but in this case it did a good job.

Slow though, 100 hour+ for both renders and still not really clear. :)

Rochr,
Sure I'll  just hook it up to the trusty old ZPM or a Naquada generator.

Rayraz,
They aren't my carrier yet. I emailed one site and they said they'd block the violation from trying to hack into my computer. There are about twenty others that need to be taken care of as well.  Yes it is illegal to hack into someone elses computer without their permission. In the U.S.A. the last resort to report such violations is the Federal Trade Commission  and most companies don't want the hassle. Not sure what to do about the Australian hack yet.... I'm not at all suprised to find out that the hacks come from big companies - most all hacks need to be done by someone with more expertise in internet programming than myself. Most people simply do not have the knowlede it takes to hack and unless they work for a company who employs them to do this aren't likely to access the information it takes to learn how to do this stuff.   the day of the script kitty is all but gone, when I first started tracing these bozos I thought I'd catch a few punks but all hacks seem to originate from large companies and most (when caught) are more than willing to block hacksites. In the case of ATT I am sure that they started trying to hack my computer when I made an inquery  as to their broadband service. Sure I want to pay $12.99 for broadband, sure I like ATT but I do not want them invading my privacy for the priviledge.

Of course someone could figure out more about more about firewall logs inquiring to IP addresses for domain info and write code which contacts the clown by E-Mail or does something else. Such a person could call such software "the corbomite device" after Kirk's bluff in StarTrek TOS  .As John Wayne might say " 'Im not gonna do it; I'm not gonna do it..."
