I tried that yesturday and could not get an oject to move, but tried again now and works fine. Hmmm.
Anoughter question : can the mouse be set to drag in smaller increments? I was getting too much movement useing mouse, that why I wanted numerical. Any help?

If you're using multiple views (isometric as well as orthographic), I find that zooming in considerably in the top, left or front view and dragging there, as opposed to using the omnidirectional move tool in the perspective view allows for much finer movement. Zooming in on the view in the perspective window can get a little confusing when you go to dolly the camera around, so I just keep it wide enough to see the entire production frame and zoom in the isometric views.

THanks dex I'll give that a shot.

You also have the ability to "nudge" an object using the arrow keys, which may give you more control than the mouse but less trial-and-error than using the numeric fields. Check somewhere around pg 148 in the manual (or just use the text search feature in the Adobe Reader to find nudge): "Press and hold the Command/Ctrl key, and then press the arrow keys to move the object in the active plane." You can also use the shift key to get smaller increments.

Rather than dragging an object around on screen with mouse is the a way to do it by numerical input?
