a while ago my wife got me 3d max 8 and some tutorials.

at the moment i'm in the process of making a rather lump female character..the lumps are completely unintentional i swear.

after i complete the lady i'll try and rig her. i think it's gonna take me a week or two to finish. once i'm done how do i get her into poser 6. is it just an export objwavefront ? when and if i use the obj export will it get to poser with the bones intact ....anyone know what i should do ...please.  a  thought id put a render in of where i've got in the past two days lol and i know the feet need doing . some of the little bumps are a bitch to iron out as well. i have to say it's a lot harder than i thought...and i doubt anyone would like to claim this is a derivative of someone elses work but if they do i have all my work flow starting from the first block of 2 by 2 polys. if anyone has any neat tips they can give me i'd be really grateful lol

OBJ works fine but you wont get the bone info into Poser that way AFAIK. You will have to open her up in Poser and then re-rig her there using Posers native tools. Prolly be easier to just do the final output from MAX itself unless you want to distribute her as a Poser figure or something.

As for the modelling part, its coming along decently enough. Much better then my own feeble attempts when i first started modelling, they didnt even look human much less female LOL. Have to see wire to be sure but i think the breast area needs some relooping to get rid of the squarish shape there and to connect it more naturally to the shoulder area. Using some refs of real females (which you can get from 3d.sk) will also help.

If you plan on just making it a poser figure then don`t bother adding the bones in max, just export the object and make the bones in poser, daz has some tutorials about rigging poser figures in their tutorial arcana.

thanks tek and yep i know it needs more work. at the moment its very low res so i should be able to jiggle it a bit more before adding more loops. bugger about the rigging in poser cos the tut i have for 3d max is brilliant.  it's a lynda.com cd. still i'll give it a go cos i would like it to be a poser figure. if it turns out any good i'd like to make it a freebie. in return for the help i've had from poser.

thanks for the heads up xantor. it looks like thats what i'll have to do. i thought i put a back view in but it seems i didn't so heres a back view
