Subject: Space scenes - how do you get rid of the ground?

If you want only space, stars and planets, how do you get rid of the ground?  Do you just point the camera up in the sky or can you actually get rid of every trace of ground?

Sorry if this is such a simple thing - It isn't obvious to me!

We are trying to do a fly-by of Earth

Yes..delete the ground from the right hand browser and in Atmosphere, I believe there is one that is set up for outer space, check all the catagories in the materials browser, I can't as I was using a demo that ran out or I could have told you exactly which one it's in...enjoy outer space...LOL

Once in a while I look around,
I see a sound
and try to write it down
Sometimes they come out very soft
Tinkling light sound
The Sun comes up again

Delete the ground plane and then go into the atmosphere set up and MAKE SURE that fog, haze and all the other options are set to "0".

Besides deleting the ground (an infinite plane), there are 2 atmopheres for space and no atmosphere planet scenes. One is just black and one has stars on black (Vue 5 Infinite).

This can be a problem when you actually want a picture full of sky, with atmosphere but no ground. Deleting the ground plane doesn't give you a 360 degree sphere full of sky.

One trick that I have used successfully is to give the ground plane a mirror texture.
