Subject: converting brushes

mystmaiden ( ) posted Sat, 03 June 2006 at 2:22 AM · edited Mon, 20 January 2025 at 7:48 PM

I found some very neat brushes for cs but I am using photoshop 7. Is there an (easy) way to convert them. I do not want to mess them up.

Thanks

ah..it  might help if I explain that when I try to use the brushes, I get an error message saying that ps7 doesn't support that kind of file. Is there any help for this?

At the risk of carrying on an entire forum thread alone.. I'm going to post the answer I found, just in case anyone else needs to know.

After checking in several places, I have gotten a repeated reply that converting brushes from the newer CS for use in PS 7 is not possible. I have, however,  found several folks who do supply the images for PS 7 users from which their CS brushes were made.

I too have searched for this answer... no luck! But as you said if you can get someone who uses CS to put each brush "STAMP" on a layer and send it to you so you can make PS7 brushes for yourself... voila! I'm watching this thread.. maybe someone else has the answer.

I'm pretty sure if a cs user took the dynamics off the brushes and resaved it could then be used in ps 7. It's just a thought but not tested.
