At the risk of carrying on an entire forum thread alone.. I'm going to post the answer I found, just in case anyone else needs to know.
After checking in several places, I have gotten a repeated reply that converting brushes from the newer CS for use in PS 7 is not possible. I have, however, found several folks who do supply the images for PS 7 users from which their CS brushes were made.
I too have searched for this answer... no luck! But as you said if you can get someone who uses CS to put each brush "STAMP" on a layer and send it to you so you can make PS7 brushes for yourself... voila! I'm watching this thread.. maybe someone else has the answer.

I found some very neat brushes for cs but I am using photoshop 7. Is there an (easy) way to convert them. I do not want to mess them up.
